Full Job Description

  • KU Union Children's Centre 
  • Long Day Care
  • 2 positions
  • Permanent, full time – 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday in Nursery room
  • Contract until March 2024, full time, 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday in Toddlers room
  • Qualification: Certificate III

Located on the edge of Sydney University and within walking distance from Redfern Station. The service offers a welcoming and nurturing space where each child is immersed in a rich tapestry of educationally interactive experiences – including art, craft, literacy, numeracy, music, dance, song, games, stories & cooking. KU Union proudly have a special interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture. This is incorporated into our program through commemorating Sorry Day, celebrating Reconciliation week and NAIDOC and by inviting aboriginal community members to come to our service to talk to the children.

Of course, you will need:

  • Australian working rights
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • An ACECQA recognised Certificate III
  • Completed training in Child Protection
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
