The Day Surgery Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Endoscopy) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Consultant is an employee who is a registered who:
- Is appointed to an advanced practice nursing position; and
- Demonstrates a specialised clinical expertise and/or specialised skill set.
Classification may include but is not limited to:
- Responsibility for explicit professional portfolio content and context expertise.
- Expertise in the provision of direct care and/or support of systems and/or education and/or professional leadership.
- Consultation and provision of professional advice.
- Responsibility for a cohort of staff reporting to the position. and/or education and research advice.
About the Team
The Day Surgery Unit is geographically located in multiple areas within.
- Endoscopy suite in theatre complex
- An open plan design with 8 chairs in Day Surgery Unit recovery and
- Extended Day Surgery Unit has 14 funded beds M-F and 9 Sat/Sun but does flex to 16 when required.
The Day Surgery Unit plays an integral role in MBH achieving National Elective Surgery Targets (NEST) and providing a safe elective surgery pathway for all consumers of MHHS district through the safe preparation of all elective surgery patients.
The Mackay Base Hospital Endoscopy Service operates within the service definition of a Level 3 Endoscopy Service, providing care for low, medium, and high anaesthetic risk patients, having elective and emergency, diagnostic and interventional procedures.
