We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Officer in the Inner Metro Melbourne region for our Transition to Work program.

About the Role

The Community Engagement Officer’s role is responsible for building relationships and driving engagement with Community Organisations, Educational Institutes, high Schools, Employers, and young people. They are responsible for increasing young people’s success in finding work, returning to education and engaging with appropriate community services to address barriers.

You will be responsible for building relationships and driving engagement with Community Organisations and Educational Institutions within the employment region in order to gain a better understanding of resources available for Participants, whilst working with and within schools to direct register Group 2 Participants. 

In addition to the above, you will provide post placement support to the employer and young person in an effort to identify risk of falling out of employment/education, implement individualised strategies to eliminate risk of fall out, increase job sustainability and ensure young people are meeting employer’s expectations.

Your unique attributes and qualities include:

  • Understanding of the Transition to Work Australia 2022-2027 contractual guidelines; preferred but not essential
  • Understanding of demographics, businesses and industry in employment region
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level Interpersonal skills
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Sound IT and data entry skills including using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven experience in sales, marketing and/or recruitment delivery
  • Cert IV in Employment Services; preferred not essential
