Full Job Description

Are you a sports fan? Do you enjoy keeping up to date with the latest sports movements globally? Then maybe this role could be for you!

We are currently seeking a skilled Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in risk management for our Stake Sportsbook team!You will work closely with our Business Intelligence and Sportsbook teams to collect, process, and analyse data from various sources, including game footage, player statistics, and performance metrics.

It is crucial to this role that you are interested and also understand sports and wagering.

Your role with us: Your role with us will be focusing on managing risk that occurs on the Sportsbook side of our Stake platform through identification, analysis and reporting. You will gather data to create dashboards, reports and alerts for the Sportsbook team to visualise and gather insights from. The information you will be working with is real time data which is time sensitive.

You will be joining our Business Intelligence team which currently consists of 11 individuals; 8 analysts, 2 analytical engineers, 1 data scientist and a Head of Business Intelligence. You will be working alongside them all and work closely with the Sportsbook team. You will report to Head of Business Intelligence.

• Gathering, extracting and manipulating raw data from multiple databases to transform it into reporting solutions and insights, enabling informed decision making to drive improved performance across our Sportsbook internal team
• Providing regular reports to internal stakeholders
• Designing, developing, reviewing and updating custom reports.
• Responding to requests for information by summarising and analysing internal and external data sources
• Work collaboratively with Sportsbook team to support complex risk investigations and to respond to rapidly evolving threats and implement rule-based analytical solutions

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 2-3 years working as a Data Analyst, preferably within the online gaming or gambling industry.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, and SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of sports dynamics and understand the strategy behind punting.
