Full Job Description

The Digital, Data and Information Branch, led by the Chief Information Officer (CIO), is looking for an experienced, well-rounded, and engaging Digital professional who will play a key role in managing and uplifting several digital functions and capabilities within the branch to meet the evolving needs of the directorate and government.

The Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate (EPSDD) is responsible for a wide range of policies and programs within the ACTPS that includes areas as diverse as climate change policy, energy policy, nature conservation, environment protection policy, strategic planning, statutory planning, development approvals, building policy, land policy and economics, heritage and water. The Directorate also includes the ACT Parks and Conservation Service which manages nature reserves, national parks, commercial softwood forests and rural lands to ensure Canberra provides open and safe space to its community.

The Digital, Data and Information Branch within the Corporate Services and Operations Division enables the Directorate’s effective and secure use of data and technology solutions. The branch provides strategic advice to matters relating to Data, ICT and Digital as well as managing key digital operations that contribute to whole of government outcomes. In partnership with the Digital, Data and Technology Solutions (DDTS) and the operational business units, the branch plays a significant role in maintaining and supporting the Directorate’s data and enterprise system governance and advise projects/programs that are enabled by data and technology.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Relevant experience in program management, cyber security, business analysis, architecture, business improvement, business information, and similar disciplines are highly desirable.

Note: This is a temporary position available 1 May 2024 to 30 September 2024 with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
