What will you be doing?

Earn and Learn! Undertaking an Electricity Engineering Officer Traineeship at Energy Queensland is the first step in a career that leads to big opportunities. You will combine real on the job work and training whilst completing an Associate Degree of Engineering (studied externally through University of Southern Queensland) and being paid and supported to do so.

There will be opportunities for you to travel to other parts of the state and complete a range of technical assignments, as we develop your technical and professional career. Not only will you gain a tertiary qualification, but you will also be making a difference to the way energy is supplied to our communities and working to prepare the energy network for renewable energy solutions.

The Electricity Engineering Officer Traineeships offer you a choice of career paths, while following a structured 4-year program that will give you opportunities to develop skills in many areas including detailed design; planning; management of projects, contracts, and customers; technology; and much more.

What skills/experience do I need?

You can be a recent school leaver or trade qualified person or someone with real world experience keen to progress your career to the next level.

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

• Have achieved a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 62.7, or equivalent qualification.
• English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 2.

Applicants are advised to also note the following:

• Assumed knowledge expectations: English; General Mathematics
• Recommended Prior Study: Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent.

Salary Information

These opportunities are on a 9-day fortnight permanent arrangement and starting salary will be from $35,057 for under 21 and $66,418 for over 21 years of age. If you have a relevant trade salary will start from $84,883.
