Full Job Description

You’re open to a change of direction and a new challenge.

You know that to make a meaningful contribution there needs to be connection and collaboration across the teams. Here’s your opportunity to help our people make a big impact.

In this role, you'll:

  • You’ll partner with the Senior Manager Enterprise Agreement (EA) Project for Sydney Trains to provide technical employee relations advice into the Enterprise Agreement project.
  • You’ll also partner with the broader project team, including communications, finance and line managers in the effective engagement and management of staff.
  • You will ensure that the interests of both staff and the organisation are reflected in the industrial relations environment and that there is a collaborative and engaged approach to negotiating with unions during a period of significant change for the organisation.

You will provide professional advice, support and coaching for leaders to foster collaborative workplace relations and enhance their understanding of industrial instruments and interpreting and meeting requirements identified under the Rail Enterprise Agreement.

This is a 12 -months temporary position in a hybrid working model with flexibility to work in our Pitt Street/Elizabeth Street/Burwood offices.

About you

  • You will have comprehensive knowledge of the industrial relations discipline combined with strong negotiation skills and proven ability to be innovative in resolving industrial disputes.
  • You will have proven high level strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills in an industrial environment. You are able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will be comfortable in a fast-paced complex customer centric and dynamic environment where delivery on tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities are critical, and you will be familiar with the requirements associated with enterprise agreement negotiation.
  • You’ll maintain a high standard of work, and having previously worked in a similar environment, you are aware of the political sensitivities and maintain confidentiality in what you do.
