We are looking for a Marketing and Communications leader to work closely with our Global Energy Team as we explore what’s possible in the transition towards a sustainable and resilient energy future.

Your role and responsibilities

As the Marketing and Communications Manager, of the Global Energy portfolio your day-to-day tasks will see you owning and managing the marketing and communication needs of our Global Energy Portfolio, spanning Renewables, Energy transition, Power and Gas, and Fuels.

Reporting to the Global Marketing Director and working in a team of marketing specialists, you will drive the strategic direction for this portfolio, work closely with the Energy Leadership team to identify market needs and trends, and deliver creative, multi-channel marketing materials, campaigns and content to a global audience. You’ll proactively identify thought leadership opportunities, build relationships with Industry bodies and media contacts and elevate the external brand presence for SMEC and the SJ Group in the Energy market. You’ll gain exposure to all functions of the business and will be responsible for driving sector specific internal communications, and strong stakeholder relationship skills will underpin your success in this role.

  • Proven ability to create and implement strategic marketing campaigns, perform in a fast-paced environment and provide clear reporting on ROI
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management - you will be a skilled and confident communicator able to connect with stakeholders across the global business, both face to face and digitally/via VC
  • Exceptional project management and organisational skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify broader cross sector opportunities in line with the core business objectives
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a lateral thinker
  • A genuine team player and desire to work collaboratively with the broader team
  • Tertiary Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Management or related
  • 10 years marketing experience, with 2 plus years’ experience in a similar senior role
  • Experience in the Energy and Resources sectors or engineering environment is desirable
