Risk and Controls Specialist

Full Job Description

Our client is requiring two Financial Reporting Analysts (risk and controls) to join their team and be an integral part of their Financial Reporting & Control department. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of their financial reporting. This position requires a deep understanding of process taxonomies & mapping, financial reporting risks and regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments related to financial reporting processes.
• Identify and analyse potential risks, ensuring a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement robust internal control frameworks for financial reporting.
• Design, document, and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate identified risks.
• Process Taxonomies and Mapping; conduct process mapping, in collaboration with the process transformation team, to visualise and document end-to-end financial reporting workflows, identifying key risk and control points.

Desirable:

• CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent).
• 7+ years progressive post qualification experience in financial reporting, with a focus on risks and controls.
• Demonstrated ability to implement best practice risk management/control frameworks.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in developing and implementing process taxonomies and conducting process mapping.
• Financial Services expertise preferred.
