Position Overview: The Scheme Operator oversees the operational functions and strategic direction of Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA), ensuring adherence to accreditation standards, maintaining industry compliance, and promoting the organisation's mission. Reporting to the SAA Board, the Scheme Operator provides leadership in managing day-to-day operations, drives innovation through technology and data-driven decision making, fosters stakeholder relationships across the SAA network and industry, and drives initiatives to advance solar energy practices.

Position Goal: The Scheme Operator is responsible for steering Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) towards the accomplishment of its strategic objectives. Leading the operational efforts, the Scheme Operator ensures efficient management of accreditation processes, compliance activities, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. By fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within SAA, the Scheme Operator strives to uphold the organization's reputation as a trusted accreditation body in the solar energy sector. The Scheme Operator’s role is also to seek growth and increased revenue opportunities in ways that fit SAA’s core purpose. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight:
  • Provide leadership in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and industry regulations.
  • Oversee accreditation processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in delivering accreditation services.
  • Monitor operational repoorting statistics and manage productivity, customer service, and quality assurance efforts.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and innovation within SAA, promoting continuous improvement in technology/ User Experience and best practices.
  • Organisational Goals:
  • Implement strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance accreditation services, promote industry compliance, and support the growth of the solar energy sector.
  • Collaborate with the Board and stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that advance SAA's mission and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as a spokesperson for SAA, engaging with industry stakeholders, advocacy groups, and government bodies to promote the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to support SAA's initiatives.
  • Represent SAA at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance visibility and promote collaboration within the solar energy sector.
  • Strategic Leadership & Management:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the SAA team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic initiatives that support the organization's growth and development.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve service delivery.
  • Oversee budgetary planning and expenditure management to ensure prudent financial management.
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure alignment with budgetary goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Board and finance team to develop and implement financial strategies that support SAA's mission and objectives.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain the integrity and credibility of SAA's accreditation services.
  • Monitor and assess operational performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Key Relationships:

  • Position reports to: SAA Board
  • Direct reports: Scheme Administrator, Chief Compliance Officer, Financial Manager.
  • External: Industry Stakeholders, Government Agencies, Advocacy Groups.

Strong Experience in the Australian Solar PV Installation Industry is a mandatory requirement for this role.
