Your new role

The role supports Investment Data management related activities, including the investment process to capture, maintain and improve Investment Data in order to produce complete, accurate and timely investment and different books of record (ABOR, IBOR and TBOR) to effectively manage the Fund's exposures on a daily basis.

The role of Senior Analyst, Investment Data Operations primarily exists to:

• Lead and support the development and delivery of Investment data to platforms, such as: Portfolio Management System and Performance Systems
• Materially contribute to the evolution of Investment Data Operations by taking lead on design, development and delivery of improvement initiatives that will introduce efficiencies to platform workflows and operating processes.
• Jointly contribute to the successful delivery of the complete suite of Investment Operations Services into the Investment teams

Some key responsibilities but not limited to;

• Lead and support the resolution of issues encountered during the daily processes
• Lead independent and/or collaborative thinking to the design, development & delivery of innovative solutions and improvement initiatives across Investment Data Operations. Conduct all related activities including stakeholder management, change management and co -ordination across impacted business teams and service providers
• Lead and support the resolution of issues encountered during the daily processes and escalate where appropriate
• Conduct deep dives into issues and pain points and identify opportunities for efficiency/productivity savings. Manage the implementation of improvements
• Assist to drive a continuous improvement mindset within Portfolio Operations by displaying a focus on change and improvement and working with the functional teams on change.
• Lead the Investment Data Operations team and support activities to ensure the completeness , accuracy, and timeliness of the daily data provided to downstream systems. Coach and develop team members and execute projects succinctly
• Collaborate with Operational Risk Partners to ensure that new processes or changes to existing processes are designed and implemented in-line with existing risk guidelines
• Lead activities, as directed by the Manager, Investment Data Operations required to ensure workflows and operating processes used within AustralianSuper's Investment Operating Model continue to be fit for purpose and in line with end-user expectations
• Ensure that the Investment Data Operations team appropriately contribute to the ongoing provision of all Investment Operations services and service standards required by the global Asset Class teams to effectively manage the Investment Portfolio

What you'll need

• Minimum of 7 years relevant finance experience
• Ability to understand and challenge existing processes to identify and drive improvement
• Ability to take ownership of initiatives and see them through to successful completion
• Advanced understanding of ABOR/IBOR/Custody processes
• Experience in leading process improvement and change initiatives
• Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas, issues, and solutions to key stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Advanced SQL highly regarded
• Advanced Power BI / DAX/ Tableau
• Experience in Aladdin, Bloomberg, Eikon and FactSet, highly desirable
• Intermediate Python
