The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team based in Sydney. In this role you will work closely with industry-leading partners Toby Anderson and Daniel Ficyk, as well as other partners and lawyers across one of Australia’s pre-eminent energy teams. You will have the opportunity to work on ‘first in market’ projects and with clients, in Australia and internationally, who are at the forefront of the energy transition.

You will undertake a range of work that supports the delivery of major renewable and energy projects. This will provide the opportunity to work across:

  1. Project delivery consisting of development and construction related agreements including EPC, ECI, FEED and EPCM arrangements; and
  2. Renewable energy technologies including wind (including offshore), solar, run-of-river and pumped hydro, geothermal, battery storage and hybrid projects.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  1. Demonstrable experience with energy, infrastructure, and construction projects with a focus on contract review, interpretation and negotiation.
  2. An excellent academic record, coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset.
  3. First-class attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to comprehend intricate legal matters.
  4. A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team.
  5. Capability to work effectively within tight timeframes, both collaboratively and autonomously.
  6. A hunger to learn and develop and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.
