EQUINE SURGERY NURSE – Scone Equine Hospital (SEH)

Surgery SEH Our equine surgical unit is led by registered specialists and highly experienced equine surgeons trained to world-best standards. Veterinary anaesthetists, qualified nursing staff and veterinary interns support the surgeons as part of a co-ordinated team. Our 24 hour surgical service for SEH and referral clients is an essential component of the care we provide for critical cases such as those requiring colic surgery or caesarean section. There are approximately 1000 procedures undertaken annually, making this one of the busiest equine surgical facilities in Australia.The Role Scone Equine Hospital is seeking a Surgery Nurse for their busy surgical facility. This role is stimulating and fast paced but well supported by an experienced team of specialists, interns, nurses and a hospital coordinator. The successful applicant will be part of a dedicated team and will have a passion for providing high quality patient care, customer service and will demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation and excellent communication skills. This position will also include a component of flexi-nursing roles within the practice. This would suit both early-in-career nurses and experienced nurses looking to take the next step in their equine nursing careers by gaining experience in a high case load hospital.   • Qualifications or experience in equine nursing desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in working with a variety of horses desirable but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, and passion for patient care are a must.
  • Strong teamwork and the ability to work autonomously.
