Wine Bar Supervisor | Bar Messenger

THE OPPORTUNITY 

Mulpha Hospitality are currently recruiting for a Wine Bar Supervisor for Sydney’s newest wine bar, Bar Messenger .

Minutes from the Opera house and Botanic Garden and tucked away in the heritage listed Transport House, Bar Messenger provides a top tier wine list from some of Australia’s best wineries and wine regions, and a small, curated food menu.

We are currently seeking a talented Hospitality Professional with a background in Small Bar management and a passion for wine and customer service to work with our Venue Manager to create one Sydney’s best small bar offering.

As supervisor you will access to extensive training on a fantastic wine list featuring some of best wines and wine regions (2 Glasses in this year’s Australian Wine List Awards) and direct access to Mulpha’s Hunter Valley wineries and wine makers.

This role will work closely with our sister venue Pont Brasserie and is a great opportunity to learn and develop some great skills continued growth in your hospitality career!

Salary Guide: 65-68k plus super.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, the Wine Bar Supervisor will:

• Assist the Venue Manager across the daily operation of the venue
• Provide detailed and friendly advice to the customers, providing insight and recommendations and maximising sales
• Conduct staff training on wine knowledge, service techniques, and proper handling of wines and beverages
• Ensure beverage service quality is at its highest and meets set standards
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the venue at all times
• Assist the with closing and opening procedures as needed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A background in Hospitality and/or Small Bar management.
• A passion for food wine & ability to work independently 
• A good knowledge of modern beverage service
• A high standard of personal presentation and ability to engage and communicate with your teams and our guests effectively
• A team player attitude & love of great service and Hospitality
• Enthusiasm, commitment, and seeking the opportunity to learn and develop professionally
• WEST or equivalent experience highly desirable
