Job Description
The Main Component Upgrade (MCU) Technician will work within the existing team in the safe execution of Main Component Upgrade and Uptower Repair work on Wind Turbines across Australia on GE Vernova Onshore Wind Services, as directed by the MCE Lead.
Flexible on locations on the East Coast of Australia as this role will work on a 3:1 Roster across different Wind Farms in Australia.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities**
+ Work within small hands-on work groups during on site execution of MCU/UTR work
+ Execute MCU work as directed by the MCU Lead, involving major crane operations using GE MCU teams, local GE employees, third party contractors, and crane vendors
+ Inspect all major parts to ensure no damage and that they are the right type or configuration for the turbine
+ Check and validate Inventory Tooling, Parts, any other items required during MCU operations
+ Interpret the requirements of GE manuals, specifications, bulletins, and complete assigned tasks in accordance with GE work instructions
+ Complete all the necessary documentation with respect to MCU / UTR execution
+ Ensure data is collected to complete reports on executed MCU/UTR work.
+ Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organization's JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures
+ Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
+ Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved, and answer questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required
+ Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections and report as required to MCU lead/FPM/CMS.
+ Form part of a roster to work weekends and nights if required or as directed by management
+ Perform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures as required
+ Be familiar with and follow all EHS policies, and procedures applicable to their job and report any injuries, spills, near misses or related incidents and any concerns about possible violations of this policy
+ Cooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits, and call attention to fellow employees of unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and practices to their Manager, Supervisor, and EHS Manager/Coordinator
+ Complete all required EHS Training
**Qualifications & Experience:**
+ Either a qualified Electrician, holding appropriate Australian electrical license, with strong mechanical aptitude, or a qualified Mechanical tradespersons, with electrical aptitude.
+ Proficient in fault finding electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
+ Experience in overall wind farm operations and maintenance, installation, and heavy lift main component exchange.
+ Trained to an intermediate level in computer skills.
+ Must hold the appropriate eligibility, at date of application, to work in Australia (i.e. Permanent Resident of Australia or an Australian Citizen or New Zealand Citizen)
+ Ability and willingness to travel nationally or internationally for work and training, as a part of a 3 week on, 1 week off roster.

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities
+ Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement innovative solutions
+ Experience in the wind farm industry would be highly desirable

Their role is to identify and correct malfunctioning jet, turboprop, and reciprocating multi\-engine aircraft mechanical components and systems\. Performs annual and progressive inspections as well as modification work on customer aircraft\.
**JOB DUTIES:**
* Performs a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more jet and/or turboprop, aircraft models involving diagnoses of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery to customer\.
* Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft engines, mechanical systems, and components on all assigned aircraft\.
* Checks, corrects, or replaces a variety of complex aircraft assemblies, landing gear systems, air conditioner system, pressurization system, and optional equipment installations\.
* Repairs or replaces engine components and accessory items such as fuel control units, fuel injection system, air bleed system, oil and fuel pumps, starter/generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps\.
* Requires knowledge of annual and progressive inspection procedures set forth in aircraft maintenance manuals\. Performs modification work on aircraft systems and structures\.
* Responsible for clear, concise, and accurate written reports in logs, inspection reports and in parts identification for issue and return documents\.
* Conducts functional checks, engine test runs, instrument tests and alignment, and preventive maintenance on same\. Rigging, synchronizing of throttles, and setting the stops\.
* May be required to observe operation of mechanical systems during flight and troubleshoot problems for in\-shop repairs\.
* Performs duties in a manner consistent with the latest state of the art and highest standards of safety for maintaining aircraft in the most airworthy and reliable condition for the customers' safety\.
* Uses tensiometers, micrometers, pressure gauges, dial gauges, vacuum gauges, and a variety of hand tools to repair and modify systems or assemblies
**Qualifications**

* Must hold a CASA B1\.1/B1\.2 license
**EXPERIENCE:**
* Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments necessary to perform job assignments

**Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Perform the duties of a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer as part of a CASA CAR30 Maintenance Organisation delivering services within the CASA Aerial Work Category.
+ Ensure all aircraft maintenance, documentation and certification is carried out and completed in line with the Raytheon Australia System of Maintenance and Engineering Procedures Manuals.
+ Perform, implement and maintain any required shift / task handovers
+ Supervise maintenance personnel and support apprentices when required
+ Responsible for the general condition, upkeep of the hangar and workshop
+ Point of contact for work related phone calls whilst on duty
+ Deploy with Aircraft to provide maintenance and logistics support both nationally and Internationally

**Qualification Requirements**
Essential:
+ Experienced LAME B1
+ If not type rated, available to complete the Learjet 35/36 type course. Type course provided by Raytheon if required.

+ Hold a current Part 66 B1 license Learjet 35/36 type rating
+ Current First Aid Certificate
+ Forklift license
