As part of our Greenkeeping team, you will play a key role in ensuring our gardens, turf areas, and resort grounds are presented to an exceptional standard, helping deliver memorable experiences for our guests and visitors.
Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, you'll be someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a keen eye for detail, and takes genuine satisfaction in the results of your work. You will be equally comfortable working independently or as part of a collaborative team and will contribute to maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment across the resort.

This is far from a typical resort gardening role. Our diverse property offers the opportunity to work across a variety of unique environments, including the Hunter Valley Golf Course, resort grounds, purpose-built Equestrian Centre, solar farms, driving range, and other extensive outdoor facilities. No two days are the same.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining gardens, lawns, turf areas, and landscaped spaces to a high standard
  • Planting, fertilising, irrigating, weeding, mulching, and pruning
  • Monitoring and maintaining the health and presentation of plants and outdoor areas year-round
  • Operating and maintaining a variety of gardening tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Assisting with general grounds maintenance and improvement projects
  • Following workplace procedures and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about horticulture and grounds maintenance, enjoys working in a dynamic outdoor environment, and takes pride in contributing to one of the Hunter Valley's premier resort destinations.

Skills and experience

  • Unrestricted Driver’s Licence  
  • Gardening and maintenance experience and/or Certificate 3 in Horticulture – Sports Turf Management preferred but not essential
  • Experience and knowledge of chemical and fertilizer application 
  • Ride on mower and/or tractor skills advantageous
  • Be skilled at and enjoy maintaining gardens and grounds to a consistently high standard
  • Strong team player, able to work safely, independently, make decisions and show initiative
  • Be self-motivated and punctual  Good communication skills and an eye for detail  
  • Professional approach and positive attitude and work ethic
  • Ability to follow systems, procedures & safety standards
  • Ability to perform at a medium-high level of physical requirement
  • Flexibility to work throughout the week – this role is also required to work weekends

About the Role
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, you will assist in leading all aspects of golf course and turf maintenance while ensuring the highest presentation standards across the golf course and surrounding resort grounds.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Turf Management, Irrigation, Horticulture, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in golf course, sports turf, or large-scale grounds maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of turf management practices and commercial irrigation systems
  • Experience supervising teams within a turf or grounds maintenance environment
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes to agreed timeframes
  • Knowledge of chemical handling, fertiliser programs, and integrated turf management practices

**Your day to day**
This position is suited to a certified pool professional with strong technical expertise in water quality management, plant operations and preventative maintenance, who takes pride in delivering safe and exceptional guest environments.
This role is worked on a **Tuesday to Saturday** roster, primarily morning shifts, with flexibility required to meet operational needs.
Duties include:
+ Operate and maintain resort pools, spas and water features in line with Australian Standards, health regulations and best practice
+ Manage all aquatic plant systems, including filtration, chemical dosing, pumps, heating and circulation systems
+ Conduct accurate daily water testing and chemical balancing, ensuring optimal water quality at all times
+ Perform scheduled preventative maintenance across all pool and spa systems
+ Troubleshoot faults, complete minor repairs and escalate complex technical issues
+ Maintain pool plant rooms to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and organisation
+ Ensure all compliance records, logbooks and reporting are completed accurately
+ Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
+ Maintain the presentation, safety and cleanliness of all aquatic areas
+ Support the broader Engineering team with maintenance activities as required
+ Respond promptly to guest requests and operational needs
+ Uphold IHG brand standards, safety protocols and environmental practices
**What We're Looking For**
+ Certificate III/IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service or recognised Aquatic Technical Operator certification _- essential_

About the Role

What You’ll Do
  • Drive total revenue across Accommodation, Conferencing & Events, and F&B.
  • Develop and implement commercial sales strategies to achieve budget goals.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable **Pool Cleaner/Handyperson** (Part Time or Casual) to join our Engineering team.
**Your day to day**
In this hands-on role, you will help maintain the cleanliness, presentation and day-to-day condition of our resort pools, spas and surrounding areas, ensuring our aquatic facilities are safe, welcoming and maintained to the high standards expected of a luxury resort.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering exceptional standards and has a strong commitment to safety and guest service.
Duties include:
+ Clean and maintain resort pools, spas and water features to ensure a consistently high standard of presentation
+ Conduct routine water testing and report any irregularities to the Aquatic Technical team
+ Remove debris, vacuum pools and maintain pool surrounds
+ Clean pool furniture, shower areas and associated facilities
+ Assist with routine pool maintenance activities and basic equipment checks
+ Monitor aquatic areas for cleanliness, hazards and maintenance requirements
+ Report faults, damage or safety concerns promptly
+ Respond to guest requests professionally and courteously
+ Support the Engineering team with general maintenance duties as required
+ Uphold IHG brand standards, workplace health and safety practices, and environmental procedures at all times
**What We're Looking For**
+ Previous experience in pool cleaning, grounds maintenance, resort operations or a similar hands-on role preferred
+ Basic understanding of pool care and water testing is advantageous
+ Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
+ Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
+ Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
+ Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and guests
+ Flexibility to support operational requirements across the resort

Whether you enjoy delivering exceptional dining experiences in our restaurants and bars or thrive in the fast-paced excitement of conferences, weddings and special events, we have opportunities for passionate hospitality professionals to join our team.
**Your Day to Day**
+ Deliver warm, attentive service across our restaurants, bars and event venues, creating memorable experiences for every guest.
+ Provide confident menu and beverage recommendations, tailoring your approach to suit each guest, occasion or event.
+ Support a variety of service styles, including à la carte dining, cocktail functions, conferences, gala dinners, weddings and special events.
+ Assist with the setup, service and pack-down of banqueting and event spaces to ensure seamless event delivery.
+ Ensure tables, event spaces and service areas are presented to the highest standard, maintaining exceptional attention to detail throughout service.
+ Work collaboratively with the wider Food & Beverage team to deliver professional, high-quality guest experiences.
+ Anticipate guest needs and resolve requests efficiently, contributing to our luxury service standards.
This dynamic guest-facing role offers variety across multiple venues and event spaces and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
**What We Need From You**
+ Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, banqueting, events or hotel environment preferred.
+ A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
+ Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
+ Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
+ A current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
+ Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
+ Availability to work conference, wedding and event shifts as required.
+ A valid Australian driver's licence (preferred).
+ Full Australian working rights.
