Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
Pinkenba, Brisbane
Opportunity:
Located in Pinkenba, the L3Harris Regional Support Centre (RSC) is a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides the L3Harris Defence Australia programs, International Programs and commercial programs with through life maintenance support. Within this facility, as a member of the Maintenance Team, this role is an entry level position (apprentice), progressing to gaining a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920). Maintaining a variety of military and commercial communications equipment.
Under the guidance of a mentor/s, use test instrumentation and equipment to perform fault diagnosis of digital and analogue assemblies in customer support environments. Support engineering functions as required. Use data collection tools to manage workflow and review failure trend analysis for contribution to continuous improvement programs. Provide customer support regarding product diagnostics as required which may involve customer site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Undertake Apprenticeship program and successfully complete required assessments as per agreed training plan.
+ Ability to learn how to effectively diagnose products comprising RF, digital and analogue circuits.
+ Accurate data collection associated with diagnostic findings and solutions.
+ Provide feedback/learnings to management/mentors, regarding diagnostics, processes, and tools.
+ Work closely with supervision on routine tasks.
+ Follows established processes to complete assigned tasks.
+ Ensure quality standards are maintained through best practice.
+ Communicate with contacts typically within the team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
+ Ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation.
+ Inventory management and record keeping.
+ Attend TAFE training when required throughout Apprenticeship.
Skills Required:
Essential
+ Experience in operating in a flexible team environment.
+ Proven ability to learn theoretical knowledge and apply in practice.
+ Proven ability to schedule and prioritise work when presented with challenging targets to meet customer requirements.
Desirable
+ Experience or interest electronics and/or RF communications.
+ Understanding of network protocols.
+ Experience in Technical maintenance.
+ Prior ADF experience.
Experience & Education Requirements:
+ Year 12 certificate or equivelant
