**Electrical Engineer for Power**
**This position is contingent upon contract award**
Amentum is seeking an **Electrical Power Engineer** to support a requirement for a US Government contract in the town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia. This position supports efforts to be performed by Amentum including facilities Construction, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) and Support Services in an austere and remote location. Performance requires several unique functions given the isolated location of the Site which resides on a 4,400-acre facility which is self-sufficient and generates its own power and water. The contract supports Project Task Order (PTO) related efforts varying in complexity from minor/major system upgrades, renovations, to existing facilities, and new construction. The priority is to implement and maintain a successful O&M program to provide life, health and safety for site personnel, while ensuring continuous operations of the site infrastructure.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ US Citizen with active U.S government clearance - TS/SCI with polygraph.
+ A degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, and hold Professional Engineer (PE) licensure as an Electrical Engineer
+ Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in medium and low voltage industrial power distribution.
+ Experience in design of medium and low voltage distribution.
+ Experience with high voltage distribution and frequency conversion equipment
+ Experience working in secured/restricted areas, data centers (power and cooling), performing configuration management activities, and knowledge of the Uptime Institute Tier configuration topologies
+ Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience with the concepts, design, and engineering of electrical power distribution from both power generation and public utility power to rack mounted equipment
+ A thorough understanding of SCADA systems and Building Management Systems.

Located in Pinkenba, the L3Harris Integration and Sustainment Centre a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides the L3Harris Communications Australia programs with through life maintenance support. **Job Description**
As a Senior (also open to Principal level) Earthing and Bonding Engineer, you will lead the delivery of complex E&B solutions across major infrastructure projects-including rail, substations, and utilities-by applying your technical expertise to design, review, and verify systems for 1500V DC and 25kV AC traction power, re-signalling, SAT/TAP, and electrical upgrades, while ensuring compliance with safety, EMC, and network standards, and overseeing modelling, documentation, and integration to deliver technically sound, constructible, and standards-aligned outcomes.
**How you'll make a difference**
+ Lead and manage the earthing design components of major infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget, while mentoring junior engineers.
+ Develop, review, and approve earthing designs, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with standards, and innovative problem-solving.
+ Engage and collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive project outcomes and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the ANZ region.
+ Ensure quality and safety compliance by conducting regular design reviews and implementing robust quality assurance processes across all deliverables.
+ Collaborate globally to share technical knowledge, apply best practices, and drive innovation and sustainability across diverse, high-impact infrastructure project
+ Working with team lead to build the team and their expertise.

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
+ Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on rail, transmission and water projects
+ Extensive knowledge of Earthing and bonding for High voltage, Low voltage systems, 1500V DC and 25kVAC traction systems, transmission lines, buildings, pipelines
+ Strong understanding of and experience with TfNSW, Australian Standards. Knowledge of Ausgrid, Transgrid is favoured.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide engineering solutions including design, analysis, implementation, test and lifecycle support of the safe and secure delivery of Australian Defence Force's assets.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**

+ A minimum of 3-5 years prior relevant experience in a relevant engineering. discipline within a process-driven engineering environment (e.g. Defence, medical, manufacturing, mining).
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively work autonomously and in a team.
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver quality engineering solutions to budget and schedule expectations.
+ Demonstrated experience with managing the safety & risk assessment process and addressing risks through system safety design.
+ Effective written and oral communication skills, fostering strong mutual understandings between diverse internal and external stakeholders.
