We have an opening for an Electrical Colo Regional Engineer in Melbourne. As an Electrical Colo Regional Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise and engage with diverse teams.

Key job responsibilities

- Act as resident engineer during new colo construction projects. Support construction, commissioning, and handover
- Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failure
- Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including essential equipment, and event support
- Provide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency
- Supporting operating partners to lead, review, and approve designs for existing co-location (colo) data center upgrades which improve availability/efficiency
- Interface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered by operating partners
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
- Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation's

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities. (Experienced Engineer)
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant.
- Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production
- Previous ownership of fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects
- Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptible power sources, diesel generators, electrical switch-gear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc.)
- Have fluent knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems and building management systems. (Including but not limited to: uninterruptible power sources, AC/DC conversion, P&ID loops, diesel generators systems and complex arrangements, direct evaporative cooling systems, etc.)

• Inspect electrical installations and finished products for compliance with specifications. < r>• Verify that all electrical work adheres to AS/NZS 3000 and IEC standards before commissioning. < r>Installation & Maintenance:
• Assemble, install, calibrate, and repair electrical equipment, including protection relays and metering devices. < r>• Perform preventive maintenance on industrial motor control centres (MCCs) to minimize downtime. < r>Workshop Operations:
• Undertake workshop duties, including wiring, testing, and modifying electrical assemblies. < r>• Fabricate and test custom control panels for machinery integration. < r>Research & Development:
• Contribute to R&D initiatives by assisting in experimental programs. < r>• Assist in the testing and integration of renewable energy systems (e.g., solar inverters) into industrial power networks. < r>
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Trade Certification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. < r>• Proven experience in electrical drafting, machinery wiring, or industrial electrical systems. < r>• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) for schematic and layout design. < r>• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform technical calculations and interpret test data. < r>• Knowledge of industry standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and electrical safety regulations. < r>• Hands-on experience with motor controls, switchgear, PLCs, and protection systems is highly desirable. < r>• Workshop & fabrication skills, including the ability to assemble and troubleshoot electrical components. < r>• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project teams. < r>• At least 1 year of Full-time on the job work experience. < r>

Duties and Responsabilities:

Assist in the development of technical drawings, layout plans, and diagrams for various electrical systems and installations.

Collect technical data, conduct field and lab tests, and perform analytical calculations to support project design and implementation.
