The Amazon Aviation Security (AvSec) team is seeking an Aviation Security Manager to lead critical night operations that keep our Melbourne air cargo network secure and compliant. You'll lead a dedicated team of associates and examination officers, oversee compliance with Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) requirements, and drive operational performance. Key job responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of Amazon associates, 3rd party vendors to achieve operational excellence
- Motivate and build strong relationships across your team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement
- Review work forecasts and determine operational staffing requirements to meet business demands
- Collaborate with cross-functional support teams including Operations, Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources to accomplish shared objectives
- Participate in partner team meetings to drive operational consistency across the network
Compliance & Security Operations
- Ensure full compliance with Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) security program requirements and corporate policies
- Conduct regular audits and security assessments to verify adherence to security procedures and regulatory standards
- Oversee Dangerous Goods classification compliance
- Utilize industry and Amazon best practices for secure handling and transportation of air cargo
- Effectively communicate security policies and procedures to partner teams, providing awareness and guidance
- Identify vulnerable processes and systems, providing expert advice and support for security risk remediation
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Enhance, track, and report on key performance metrics to drive operational improvements
- Identify, promote, and implement security best practices across the operation
- Maintain Health and Safety standards within your area of responsibility
- Deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Drive Dive Deep analysis on complex processes to solve problems and optimize operations
A day in the life
- Supervisor and tactical management in an area with procedures or workflow;
- Conducts audits and security assessments to ensure compliance;
- Facilitates successful results for customers;
- Recommends improvements to tools and procedures;
- Utilizes industry and Amazon best practices for the secure transportation of air cargo;
- Supports operational teams from a regulatory and security perspective;
- Reports and manages risks;
- Supports crisis management planning and emergency response;
- Supports investigations of regulatory violations and mitigates risk;
- Supports a single facility and develops team members. Supports leadership by managing problems and escalating roadblocks.
About the team
The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance (AvSec) team is responsible for air cargo security and regulatory compliance at Amazon. The Team is committed to identifying and mitigating risk to people, Amazon assets, Amazon brand and regulatory compliance. The foundation of the organization and the risk mitigation and continuous improvement programs are built on the principles of a robust Security Management Systems (SeMS).
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office, MS Excel, and data retrieval languages
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aviation Team Lead to spearhead the growth and delivery of our Aviation services from our Brisbane office. Job Description
Process Assistants are pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations - supervising shifts, allocating labour, assigning job duties, and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. This role places a strong emphasis on compliance with the Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) security program, including the processing and security clearance of Amazon air cargo, compliance oversight, and supervision of operational performance.
This is a part-time role combining production work and managerial duties with shift timing of 04:00am-11:36am Mon-Fri for the Prime period.
Key job responsibilities
- Support daily management of department duties, including allocating labour, leading meetings, and assigning job duties
- Monitor compliance with AvSec RACA program requirements
- Apply industry and Amazon best practices for the secure handling and transportation of air cargo
- Track and report ATS/labour hours
- Assist on the floor as an associate resource - train associates and verify SOP compliance
- Ensure successful area performance through tracking, reporting, and feedback on associate productivity, quality, safety, and security
- Report and manage risks and incidents; refer all job injuries immediately to the Aviation Security Manager
- Identify and address safety hazards within the work area; participate in safety initiatives and coach associates to work safely at all times
- Assist in keeping the work area clean and organised
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience in working and/or leading as part of a team
- Work a variety of hours as business demands
- Hold a valid and current ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
- Comfortable lifting up to 16 kg, standing/walking for up to 10-12 hours, and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to coach, train, and assist team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unplanned situations
- Excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience directly managing others
- Experience in warehouse operations and logistics or equivalent
- Experience with x-ray screening technology, physical security control, and surveillance systems
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods transportation requirements
