We are currently seeking a motivated Electrical Project Technical Lead (PTL) to join our Perth Electrical Team on a full-time basis. You will be a part of our Electrical Team working in a multi-disciplinary group across various building and infrastructure projects with a strong focus in Health, Defence, Mission Critical, Science Technology, Commercial and Social Infrastructure.
We are seeking candidates that can focus and excel in both business development and technical delivery. The business development aspect of the role will focus on input into proposals, developing and servicing a client base, and securing and generating potential opportunities. While the technical delivery aspect will focus in on the successful delivery of projects from initial concept through to construction completion.

Our Perth team are looking for a Renewable Energy Engineer/Consultant with expertise and interest in the Renewable Energy/Sustainability sector, to join us on a permanent basis.
The role will be within our Energy Team, reporting to our Energy Team Leader. The team is part of a national offering and is targeting landmark Energy Transition projects nationwide. This role is suited to someone who wants to be part of the Energy Transition in delivering commercial and utility scale renewables projects. It is ideally suited to a candidate who has at least 4 years' experience working on a range of renewables, buildings energy, and energy market related projects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the electrical design of renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
+ Develop detailed designs for high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems, including protection schemes, switchgear, and transformer specifications.
+ Prepare and review single line diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings.
+ Carry out system modelling, load flow studies, fault level analysis, and protection coordination.
+ Perform detailed modelling and assessment of solar PV, battery storage, and microgrid systems.
+ Have a strong understanding of financial and economic analysis (NPV, IRR, LCOE) to support investment decisions.
+ Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams from concept to commissioning.
+ Liaise with DNSPs, regulators, and internal stakeholders for grid compliance and approvals.

**Competencies and familiarities:**

+ Competent with the supply authority application process for inverter-based energy systems, and the various Australian DNSPs' Technical Rules.
+ Familiar with project siting constraints, such as environmental, social, and governance considerations for developments.
+ Familiar with grid connection constraints, such as system strength, inertia, and power systems engineering studies to demonstrate steady-state / dynamic / transient stability for advanced inverter systems.
+ High-voltage distribution and substation design experience are desirable.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**

In this role, you will play a key role in developing and designing electrical systems, and networks for engineering projects in our Water Division. You will work under the general direction of the Water Infrastructure Group Leader and be responsible for a small team of Electrical Engineers.
**The Principal Electrical Engineer/Team Lead will be responsible for:**
* Perform electrical engineering design which includes modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects.
* Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
* Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications.
* Contribute to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
* Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
* Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
* Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
* Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
* Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
* Be available for onsite visits or project commissioning as required from time to time
* Be stationed in a client environment on small secondment when required

**To be successful for this role you'll present:**
* Tertiary Qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical.
* Atleast 10 years' or more experience in a similar position with well-rounded experience in on Water and Wastewater projects.
* Consultancy industry experience is highly beneficial.
* Knowledge and experience in LV and MV power systems in Australia.
* Experience with CAD and power engineering software tools.
* Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
* Hold CPEng and RPEQ status.
* Be willing to offer mentorship to junior engineers based on appropriate level of knowledge
* **_Be willing to work from the South Brisbane office a minimum of three days per week._**
* Have excellent people management skills.

**EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS**
As an SCM - EAM Architect, you will have an excellent understanding of the overall SAP Business Suite across S/4HANA, SSAM, APM, FSM, etc. and how they integrate and should be used in your industry context.
From an SCM CoE perspective you will be helping the customer to holistically understand their path from the "old" SCM world into the more advanced Business Suite world including AI, mobility, automated scheduling and networks. You will work alongside the account teams in the software evaluation process, to develop SAP-centric solution scenarios and needed architecture, prepare implementation plans and define outcomes that lead to overall customer success. You will build actionable roadmaps, support the creation of business cases, PoC, give architecture advise and deliver implementation support where needed. You will act as the conduit between customer and product management / engineering to prioritise product roadmaps with customer needs, run/support industry specific round tables and events for SCM and particularly Asset Management.
Under the overall DSC Practice mandate you will be involved in engagements to advise on, design, implement, deploy our solutions with the aim to enhance the client's business functionality and overall performance, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction. You will partner with the client and possible with 3rd parties to analyse and define business requirements, technology, processes, and objectives to scope project deliverables for the same but having the overall architecture in mind.
In addition you will need to be able to work individually and as part of a high-performance team locally and globally, having SAP's and customer's success at heart. Your vast experience and your in-depth knowledge within the industry will make you the go-to person to provide though leadership advice to our colleagues/partners on end-to-end solution design, implementation challenges or deployment options.

**Qualifications**
