Are you ready to elevate your career in renewable energy? Crookwell Wind Farm, approximately 90 minutes north of Canberra. The 91MW wind farm is able to produce up to 320-GWh of renewable energy annually for homes in Canberra from 28 GE 3.4MW turbines, contributing to the capital's 100% renewable energy target. As one of the early pioneers in Australia's wind energy sector, Crookwell plays an important role in the country's sustainable energy future.
You'll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and innovative sites in the country. No two days are the same, you'll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia's wind power turning.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities**
+ Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
+ Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections
+ Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required
+ Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding
+ Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
+ Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly
+ Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
+ Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
+ Embrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed
**Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies**
+ Qualified Electrician or a qualified Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter with electrical aptitude
+ Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)
+ Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
+ A current unrestricted driver's license
+ Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you'll be climbing turbines, so you've got to have a head for heights and a love for fresh air!)
+ A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions

Your role as the Wind Farm Field Service Technician will see you interface regularly with the Service Management, Client, internal technical team, other GE Onshore wind farms, contractors and the local community. **Essential Responsibilities**
+ Interpret the requirements of GE manuals, specifications, bulletins and complete assigned tasks in accordance with GE work instructions
+ Perform and ensure the proper maintenance and fault finding of assets
+ Maintain reports using GE's various software management tools and databases
+ Ensure all work is performed I accordance with the organisation's SWMS, JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures
+ Report errors, violations, incidents or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
+ Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved
+ Answer questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required
+ Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
+ Form part of an on-call roster to work weekends and nights if required or as directed by management
+ Perform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures as required
+ Be familiar with and follow all EHS policies, and procedures applicable to their job
+ Report any injuries, spills, near misses or related incidents, any concerns about possible violations of this policy and any concerns about a possible request to violate this policy
+ Cooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits
+ Call attention to fellow employees of unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and practices to their Manager, Supervisor, and EHS Manager/Coordinator
**Qualifications/Requirements**
+ Must hold NSW Electrician's License
+ Demonstrated customer service attributes and team leadership experience in a similar role within the wind industry or in a large scale industrial environment.
+ Proficient in fault finding
+ Trained intermediate level in computer skills
+ Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights
+ A commitment to safety, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions
+ A culture of passion and pride for the renewable industry and organization
+ You will be highly organized and flourish in a busy and challenging environment
+ A current unrestricted driver's license
**Desired Characteristics**
+ Dual trade qualified preferred in mechanical and electrical, however, the position is for an Electrical Technician.
