**Job Description**
Albemarle is hiring for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer. This position is located on site at the Kemerton Processing Plant.
**What You Will Do**
+ Primary lead in the development/review/improvement of maintenance and spares strategies that work to drive the safe reliable operation of production equipment to help deliver required plant performance while helping to reduce the overall costs per tonne.
+ Participates in maintenance planning and with plant knowledge help predict major maintenance requirements, developing KPIs and reporting on them.
+ Assist in the management and implementation of the CMMS architecture in line with site standards and in light of best practice.
+ Provide mechanical engineering support of refinery static and rotating equipment in the form of equipment/material selection, design calculations, fitness for service reviews, repair methods, mechanical design approval, and equipment specification with the aid of and adherence to relevant codes and standards including OSHA 1984, AS 3788, API 579, ASME PCC-2, etc.
+ Maintaining and fostering collaborative effort with all departments that will work to ensure success in the role.
+ Ensure relevant equipment is operated and maintained according to the applicable standards and statutory compliance is adhered to.
+ Lead activities/projects that focus on reliability and cost improvement of poor performing assets.
+ Assist with project implementation to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations is in line with plant needs.
+ Participate in the development of design and installation specifications.
+ Support, utilise, and follow the site management of change process when required, to ensure changes are adequately risk assessed and required updates/changes are correctly implemented.
+ Provide input to Risk Management processes, including management of change, which helps to anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
**What You Bring**
**Required:**
+ Tertiary level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline coupled with a minimum of five years of post-graduate reliability and/or maintenance engineering experience.
+ Working understanding of asset management practices and experience in the development effective maintenance strategies.
+ Excellent problem solving, investigative, and data analysis skills.
+ A sound understanding of available NDT and condition monitoring tools and equipment, and how they can be utilised to support reliability improvement and plant management.
+ Experience in the development effective maintenance strategies.
**Preferred:**
+ Post graduate study in best practice RCM techniques and relevant equipment

The purpose of the Mechanical Fitter/Machinist role is to operate as part of a team responsible for the cost effective repair and overhaul of various electrical motors and components in accordance with OEM and Quality System requirements. The Mechanical Fitter/Machinist will report to the Production Manager for the GE OHV long term service agreement (LTSA).
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct overhauls, machining and repairs on Traction Motors, Alternators and Blower Motors.
+ Conduct static and dynamic testing of electrical equipment.
+ Estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.
+ Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods.
+ Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
+ Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies using various methods and steps, including, but not limited to: parts washers/steamers glass beads blasting, etc.
+ Use precision measurement tools and equipment to determine serviceability and accurate notation of results.
+ Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies, including, but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, fans, coils, and shields.
+ Re-test reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operation.
+ Prepare cost estimates for repair of products including description of the problem, and/or expected serviceability.
+ Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed.
+ Lift, tighten, adjust, and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
+ Proven ability to identify report and address risks and work safely in manufacturing/repair facility.
+ Possession of engineering trade Qualification Certificate III in engineering - Mechanical trade or equivalent.
+ Demonstrated ability to repair, machine, or fabricate large workpieces.
+ Sound communication skills including - concise verbal skills, the ability to write short technical reports and actively listen.
+ Proven ability to give and receive feedback to facilitate personal growth and the growth of other team members.
+ Flexible and adaptable customer solution focused attitude.
+ Demonstrated high attention to detail.

**About the Role**

**Qualifications**
**Essential Criteria**
+ Must be Experienced and hold qualifications on light and medium Bell, Airbus and Leonardo model Helicopters.
+ Must hold current B1 or C license.
+ Completed MEA40715 - Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) or equivalent.
+ A minimum of 3 years - experience in aircraft maintenance and modifications.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with workshop managers and other staff in a busy environment with strict deadlines.
+ An understanding of CASA regulations and compliance requirements.
+ A keen eye for detail and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
+ The ability to work independently.
+ Good computer literacy and experience working with aircraft maintenance programs.
+ Meet the requirements of the Company pre-employment drug and alcohol policy.
+ Provide a current National Police Check.
+ You must have the right to live and work in Australia without restriction and you must be able to obtain and maintain aviation and other government security clearances that may be required.
**Desirable Criteria**
+ The following Type Ratings are highly desirable: Bell 212/412, AW139, EC135, H145, PT6 series engines and T53 series engines.
+ In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Civil Aviation Regulations and familiarisation with foreign NAA regulations.
+ Competency in the use of computer-aided design programs will be well regarded.

+ Sufficient knowledge and experience of other related engineering disciplines to allow their integration within a design activity
+ Currency in new emerging technologies, and the ability to foster knowledge and abilities in these technologies within the Engineering group
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean principles and practices highly desirable

**Position Summary**
We are seeking an experienced, skilled and driven **Mechanical** **De** **sign Engineer** to join our diverse, dynamic, high-performance engineering team. This role is focused on design and delivery of mechanical solutions for slurry analyser systems (e.g. Samplers & Analysers) and associated equipment in the mining environment within the Minerals product portfolio of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) of Thermo Fisher to match client requirements. This will involve working with the commercial and sales teams at the bidding phase of projects as well as working with Project Managers and Operations team on project execution. This is a customer-facing role that requires hands-on design expertise and strong communication skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Engineering Support to Commercial & Sales Teams:**
+ Collaborate with Sales team and customers to gather design requirements, provide technical input and generate/clarify exceptions to specifications.
+ Review sales proposals for technical feasibility and provide suggested improvements/changes where required.
+ Provide engineering drawing packages, specification reviews, data sheets, costings and other technical requirements to Sales team in a timely manner.
+ Provide expert advice to Engineering companies in integrating sampling and analysis solutions into overall plant layout design.
+ Offer solutions consistent with annual vertical market strategic plans.
+ Work closely with Project Managers, operations and supply chain teams to meet lead time and quality targets
**Project Delivery:**
+ Prepare project specific engineering documentation, including BOMs, detailed drawings, part specs, and engineering change notices.
+ Ensure that designs are safe, fit for purpose and cost effective. This will require an understanding of appropriate safety regulations, client requirement and manufacturing capabilities.
+ Perform engineering calculations, including structural, fluid flow, and pressure analysis, and conduct FEA and CFD simulations when required to validate and optimize designs.
+ Support the full lifecycle of projects - from initial design to delivery and support.
+ Collaborate with project managers, production teams, and clients to ensure technical compliance and timely execution.
+ Other duties as required to ensure project delivery.
+ Adhere to Thermo Fisher OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.
**Continuous Improvement:**
+ As part of the business PPI-Lean Enterprise program, actively participate in practical process improvement (PPI) projects and activities across the site including kaizen events and training using proven problem-solving tools to evaluate gaps or misses in performance and establish sustainable corrective and preventative actions
+ Support the site in reaching its financial targets for productivity and identify ways to reduce production costs
+ Actively use the Root-Cause Counter-Measure (RCCM) 5-whys tool to evaluate gaps or misses in performance (KPIs) and establish sustainable corrective and preventative actions.
+ Embrace the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (inventory and productivity)) culture and actively participate in daily management activities (stand-up meetings, Gembas).
+ Be actively engaged in the CAS program to be aware of and identify improvements to customer satisfaction.
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
+ Minimum 7 years work experience in a related mechanical design engineering role.
+ Customer-facing engineering experience in mining or heavy mechanical industry - must be comfortable communicating directly with clients, understanding needs, and presenting solutions
+ Strong understanding of specification review, project compliance, and ability to read and understand engineering plant drawings and P&ID diagrams
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD platform
+ Proven capability in engineering calculations, structural and flow-related, and good understanding of mechanical systems design principles for harsh/industrial environments
+ Experience performing FEA (e.g., stress, vibration) and CFD (e.g., flow path, erosion analysis).
+ End-to-end project delivery experience from design through implementation
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
+ Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles
+ Demonstrated knowledge or and experience working to engineering and AS/ISO standards, including the ISO 9001: Quality System

The purpose of the Mechanical Technician is to execute maintenance work safely and efficiently in time with the right quality at optimal cost. Identify and propose to the Supervisor ways to remove barriers to enable efficient & effective execution.
**What you'll be doing**
More specifically, your accountabilities include:
+ Stay updated on safety rules, manage FLBM (Front Line Barrier Management) and Safety Critical role competencies, ensure PTW and LOTO procedure adherence, report incidents, and participate in toolbox talks, Assist and Assure discussions, and after-action reviews.
+ Support Causal Reasoning Investigations, conduct face-to-face Hand Overs for incoming shifts, and ensure the site is tidy before PTW closure.
+ Close out and update work activities daily, complete PCNF (partial) & CNF (conformation), create notifications for work requests, enter damage information and activity codes, review work orders in 'awaiting review' status, and provide feedback to Work Preparers.
+ Support peers in complying with AMS processes, ensure safe and optimal asset availability, and return excess materials to the warehouse.
+ Adhere to the Flange Management Procedure, review FMS (Flange Management System) check sheets, hang FMS Tags, complete and upload the Flange Checklist Summary sheet.
+ Act as the FMS focal point for vendors, ensuring completed FMS Sheets are properly uploaded.
