The Opportunity
KBR is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Services Engineer Expert to support a range of infrastructure, applications, and platform deployments across several classified and unclassified government networks.
This is a key technical role where you'll provide subject matter expertise in systems integration, infrastructure implementation, and operational readiness activities. You'll work both independently and as part of project delivery teams, ensuring secure, efficient, and standards-aligned solutions that meet the needs of our Defence and government clients.
Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you'll collaborate closely with project managers, sustainment teams, and enterprise stakeholders, delivering high-quality outcomes and seamless transitions into business-as-usual operations.
This is a 12-month fixed-term full-time role requiring an active NV2 security clearance.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
+ Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME) across multiple classified and unclassified government networks
+ Deliver infrastructure project activities including build, configuration, and deployment of systems
+ Lead server provisioning, software installation, patching, and upgrade tasks in line with change management processes
+ Configure, deploy, and migrate infrastructure components such as servers, storage, cloud services (including AWS), and virtual environments
+ Ensure systems are built to meet security standards and architectural design requirements
+ Provide Level 3 Wintel support across corporate and government platforms
+ Support physical and virtual infrastructure builds, including Microsoft Windows, Linux (Red Hat), SQL Server, VMware, and Citrix
+ Develop and maintain technical documentation including system configurations, deployment guides, and support runbooks
+ Assist with developing deployment plans, rollback procedures, and transition documentation for business-as-usual (BAU) teams
+ Contribute to project status reporting and operational readiness reviews
+ Work collaboratively with project managers, architects, operations teams, and vendors to align technical delivery with project goals
+ Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, security controls, and governance procedures
+ Identify, escalate, and assist in mitigating technical risks and improvement opportunities
+ Support handover of services to sustainment teams, including training, mentoring, and documentation handover
+ Validate Technical Recovery Plans (TRPs) as part of the transition to BAU

About The Role

- Proficient in Python programming language,

As a key contributor, you will design and build technical product demonstrations to help close multi-million dollar deals with some of the world's most sophisticated brands. Applying technical expertise, partner with sales teams to develop proposed solutions to complex customer challenges using Pega technology.

**What You'll Do at Pega:**
You will transform complex technical concepts into compelling demonstrations that showcase the full potential of Pega's platform. Working at the intersection of technology and business, you will create proof of concepts that demonstrate how our solutions can revolutionize our clients' operations. Your work will directly influence major sales opportunities and contribute significantly to Pega's continued growth and market leadership.
- Own the design and development of software prototypes for potential customers and partners
- Lead "Proof of Concept" engagements at customer sites to investigate the viability of implementing Pega solutions within a prospective customer's existing technical environment (typically onsite)
- Present technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to prospective clients in conjunction with the sales team
- Drive technical thought leadership and best practices for demo builds and solution positioning across the entire sales team
- Develop innovative new uses for Pega technology and feed these back into the product
**Who You Are:**
You enjoy solving programs and have a background in building and enhancing complex business applications. You are highly skilled in object-oriented programming but are looking for a role where you can interact with clients and have more of an impact on business outcomes. Although you might not have experience working as part of a sales team, you have more to offer beyond writing code. You have a demonstrated drive for results and thrive as part of a collaborative team.
**What You've Accomplished:**
You are a technical expert who enjoys solving complex problems and has extensive experience building enterprise applications. You have strong skills in object-oriented programming but are looking for a role with greater client interaction and business impact. You thrive in collaborative environments, demonstrate a drive for results, and can explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
You bring at least 8 years of experience in analysis, design, development, and deployment of enterprise application systems. Your technical expertise includes proficiency in JAVA, J2EE and/or .NET technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, database design, SQL, XML, and integration technologies. You understand complex data relationships and rules-based systems, and you have experience leading small development teams.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, preferably in computer science. Experience with CRM, BPM, Business Rules Engines, or Analytics technologies is advantageous, as is experience with application servers and Linux.
