**The Role - Professional Consulting Veterinarian**
**In this role you will take ownership for driving brand recommendation and ensuring that Hill's is known as a scientific, innovative and credible partner that is engaged with veterinary professionals to transform the lives of dogs and cats through superior nutrition.**
**This role is passionate about nutrition and about educating both internal and external stakeholders about the benefits of our range of diets. It serves as the technical expert for NSW, working with the field sales team as well as directly with universities and specialist hospitals to drive product understanding and leadership. This role also works closely with marketing and sales teams to drive digital and in person educational strategies in line with the category focuses and brings these to life within both independent and corporate environments. The Professional Consulting Veterinarian serves as the professional face of Hill's representing the company at veterinary conferences and discussing nutritional cases directly with veterinarians as part of the Veterinary Consultation Service.**
**The main responsibilities of the role are:**
+ **Develop and maintain high standards of knowledge in small animal nutrition and Hill's products**
+ **Identify opportunities to use expertise to affect a commercial gain**
+ **Be the go to technical resource for the NSW sales team, train and coach territory managers to understand the technical information on the Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diet products**
+ **Establish and maintain professional relationships with Key Thought Leaders, specialist hospitals and universities in NSW**
+ **Deliver training presentations to veterinarians, veterinary students, nurses and pet specialty retail groups**

**The Opportunity**
The Senior Consultant takes responsibility and is accountable for a broad range of business development activities (proactive and reactive) and the end-to-end management of consulting projects assigned to them in collaboration with the Domestic Consulting team. **Core Responsibilities**
+ Developing and implementing a strategy for business development opportunities in public health through leveraging off of existing projects and through pro-actively promoting Abt's capabilities to potential clients and through involvement in relevant discipline specific external professional groups/networks.
+ Conducting pre-capture, capture and tender responses across all opportunities in collaboration with the Domestic Consulting Team. Using discipline expertise, provide leadership of this activity in relation to public health.
+ Leading in the area of public health and/or contributing to the development of high-quality tender responses to domestic tender opportunities
+ Leading (in public health specific activity) and supporting the development of the consulting practice through activities including but not limited to development and maintenance of: webpage, linked-in and other social media platforms; marketing or other promotional materials; and boilerplates and templates for proposals and projects.
+ Build and maintain strong and influential partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and promote optimum services delivery.
+ Use expertise in public health theory and practice to set the direction of, lead and manage projects that provide evidence based, high quality products, solutions or advice for our clients. Lead and develop other team members in this process.
+ Leading, managing and contributing to a range of broad domestic consulting projects and domestic programs through the full project cycle; planning, design, implementation and reporting. These could include but are not limited to Evaluations, Monitoring, Research Designs, Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis, Needs Assessments, Service Mapping and Strategies, Workforce reviews and Project Reporting.
+ Managing projects in accordance with the contract ensuring quality, timeliness and efficiency. Identify risks and develop strategies to manage the risks.
+ As appropriate, overseeing program financial forecasting, monitoring, reporting, invoicing and value for money principles against the contract
+ Implementing robust and high quality project management practices in accordance with Abt's project management methodology (PMBOK).
