Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer
KBR are the Principal Design partner on the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA). The Alliance comprises of Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), Metro Trains Melbourne, KBR, and John Holland.
NWPA was established in 2017 and has delivered on approximately $3B of transport infrastructure projects for The State and community. Based on our success, LXRP have recently awarded NWPA a strong, clear pipeline of transport opportunities throughout Melbourne.

The Opportunity
KBR is looking for a Senior or Principal level Power Systems Technical Lead to support our current and upcoming Level Crossing Removal Projects under the North West Program Alliance (NWPA). This also includes the exciting scope of works being delivered through the Metropolitan Alliance for the Sunshine Station Precinct (SSP) project which will help optimise the future transport network in Melbourne.
This role will require an individual who is able to provide technical solutions, manage stakeholder engagements and lead design teams whilst supporting the sustainable growth of the Power Team. Be part of a team that is electrifying the Victoria's transport network!
What you will need to succeed
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
+ Experience with MTM 1500VDC Traction System and sub-systems
+ Experience leading design teams from early development through detailed design and construction.
+ Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
+ Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Australian work rights and residency required.
+ MTM Designer or Checker competency is an advantage
+ RPEV Accreditation Required

**Job Description Summary**
The Principle Delivery Manager is a pivotal part of the services organization who:
- Works across multiple projects for this aspect of the GEV portfolio;
- Will supervise and be techncially accountable for projects via the Delivery Managers who will technically deliver each project
- Where needed, provide expert advice to the ITO team on all delivery matters across the portfolio and ensure consistency from ITO to OTR
- They will cultivate relationships with customers and with internal stakeholders
- Will play a key leadership role in defining, implementing and maintaining the internal Project team's best practices and delivery standards across existing and new opportunities.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Key Responsibilities:
+ Work with the Principle Project Manager or Project Manager through close coordination for Transmission and Power System software development and implementations projects, scope management, schedule, risk management, and quality management.
+ Accountable for successful delivery of technical scope items to meet the schedule, cost and quality commitments.
+ Project Execution control: Build effective Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) .
+ Manage project teams to drive project deliverables
+ Communicate effectively with Principle Project Manager, Architects, Customer, Project teams (APAC and global) and commercial team
+ Utilize GEV Product knowledge and expertise to drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement, change management (costs base reduction, lead time reduction, productivity improvement, quality improvement, etc)
+ Agile mindset and ability to work with one or more Scrum Teams (Region and Global team) to execute and deliver solutions for our customers
+ Good understanding of DevOps concepts, such as automated builds, automated deployments and automated tests, to lead customers and apply those concepts to your daily deliverables
+ Validate project scope review in coordination with the Solution Design team identifying, documenting, and estimating any change requests (CR) or project risks with mitigation plans.
+ Assist in the tendering process for project proposals or CRs working with the Customer Engagement team/resource managers to validate scope and estimates as well as reviewing each proposal with the customer.
+ Ability to take ownership of issues and get them resolved using self-driven initiative
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or Master degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline from an accredited university or college
+ Proven experience in a senior technical consultancy role within the industry
+ Minimum of 15 years related work experience leading engineering teams, implementing a suite of products and engaging directly with customers
+ Minimum 10 years' experience with Digital software SCADA, Energy Management System (EMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS

+ Familiar with project testing such as Factory acceptance test (FAT), Site acceptance test (SAT) and user acceptance test (UAT)
+ Familiar with web and other technologies such as HTML 5, Javascript, CSS and JQuery, Perl script, Phyton, strawberry Perl, RDBMS system such as oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Power BI reporting, crystal reports, etc
