The Data Center Global Services (DCGS) team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive Civil Engineer to drive design and construction in a client-side technical lead role for the delivery of our enterprise data center campus projects.
As a Civil Engineer, you will work as part of the wider Data Center Design Engineering Team collaborating with our Real Estate, Construction and other partner teams. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of design delivery ensuring we continue to meet and exceed our industry leading quality and performance requirements.
Utilizing your Civil Engineering expertise, you will assist in site selection, assessment of due diligence reports, supporting with overall campus and site planning and development ultimately playing a pivotal role throughout the delivery of Data Center projects.
The successful candidate will be strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly with a history of delivering for their customers. The DCGS business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus. You must be able to work as part of a large and dynamic team, including many internal stakeholders, customers as well as external stakeholders like design consultants, developers and general contractors.
Key job responsibilities
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.
- Coordinate with Due Diligence teams to determine site selection criteria and review Due Diligence reports.
- Create, review, and release design RFPs.
- Manage our external civil/structural/architectural design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Review designs for grading, storm water, utilities, and pavement.
- Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP design engineers.
- Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction. Anticipated travel is approximately 25%.
A day in the life
Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Collaboration with international teams is essential, and you may need to travel for workshops to develop schematic and detailed design documentation packages.

Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ideally +10 years civil engineering experience on land development, large industrial, warehouse and commercial projects.

+ Creating Mechanical and Electrical designs utilising Autodesk Inventor.
+ Leading project estimations, quoting and project management of ETO projects.
+ Maintaining of product data for localised product portfolio.
+ Meet with customers as required, to identify engineered product design needs, provide site commissioning supervision, partake in product launches & support key product growth activities.
+ Assist the Applied Water segment in developing and maintaining a Product Roadmap, product strategy, and implementation plan for localised packaged solutions.
+ Support product localisation efforts and collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure alignment and quality.
+ Provide technical training on products to all relevant stakeholders, including the Xylem Sales Team, customers and Channel Partners.
About you:
+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical design engineering.
+ Experience in CAD modelling and Drafting.
+ System Experience in AutoCAD Mechanical, Creo and or Inventor.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully communicate with customers.

Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of **C-27J Spartan Airlifter** aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force's existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies to support Humanitarian Disaster Relief and crisis response in Australia and nearby regions.
**Your Role**
The Senior Structures Design Engineer will provide safety related design, analysis and other technical support services, in accordance with the Engineering Management System and applicable regulatory requirements. This includes:
+ Performance of activities as part of the DASR Part 21J military design organisation
+ Supporting the Continued Airworthiness (CA) services team within the Military Type Certificate Holder (MTCH) organisation.
+ Processing reported aircraft configuration or condition data (e.g. defects, unserviceability, incomplete maintenance, Airworthiness Directives, etc.) to provide hazard risk advice in a timely manner, to support safe aircraft operations.
+ Mentoring staff and helping to establish the standardisation of process and analysis methods
+ Effective engagement with the broader NGA Engineering and Technical Services Community, as well as the customer organisations including the Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO), 35 Squadron, Air Mobility Group (AMG) and the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA).
**About you**
As an experienced Structures Design Engineer, you will have experience working with in a Through Life Support organisation and have:
+ Engineering Degree Qualifications
+ Experience in working with large geographically disbursed teams
+ Excellent communication and relationship management skills
+ Experience working with CFR 14 PT 25 / EASA CS PT 25 type certified aircraft
+ Experience working within Defence Aviation programs
+ Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
+ Strong understanding of entire product lifecycle and engineering best practices including delivery of ContinuedAirworthiness (CA) service
