# Project Overview:
The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met.
_This is a fulltime position with possible work from home options as per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with function or project leadership._
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc.
+ Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
+ Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
+ Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
+ Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
+ Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
+ Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements
+ Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations
+ Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
+ Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution

Reporting to the Buildings Civil Group Leader, your will be involved with civil design and project delivery of civil aspects for a variety of civil engineering projects.

Successful applicants will have good technical design background, strong consulting engineering and project delivery skills over a range of areas including earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design, including clear knowledge of local standards and processes.
**Day-to-day responsibilities include:**
+ Attending meetings with clients and consultants

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. In this role you will oversee the civil design and documentation on a variety of urban, land and subdivision projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive regional client portfolio. **About the Role**
Working with a high-performing team of engineers, designers, and drafters with a passion for digital delivery, you will support the team in delivering projects across a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects.
