Intrax Consulting Engineers are an Australian owned, mid-sized engineering company that provide an end-to-end service to our clients across a range of services including Structural, Civil, Residential, Building Services, Forensic, Surveying and Geotechnical Engineering.
We are looking for an energetic Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Victorian team.
Reporting to the National Site Investigation Manager, in this role you will be:
- Planning, supervising and managing geotechnical investigations
- Liaising with sub-contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Travel and work in the field and in remote locations, including opportunities to travel interstate as part of your employment
- Assist with geotechnical analyses and for foundations and retaining walls investigations, slope stability investigations, pavement designs and earthworks supervision.
- Ensure adequate sampling and laboratory work is carried out to establish design soil and rock conditions.
- Participate in the delivery of projects, ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard and are quality assured.
- Effectively communicate design outcomes with the clientele.
- Assist in providing critical analysis of data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions for our clientele.
- Work with a variety of experienced and professional engineers and scientists in a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure OHS procedures are adhered to under all circumstances.
- A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
- A minimum 3 years’ experience in a geotechnical role
- Positive attitude towards learning new and diverse skills
- Soil and rock logging experience in accordance with AS1726
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and preferably with common geotechnical software (RocScience, Wallop, PLAXIS, etc.)
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- An ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
- Physically fit enough to be able to perform field duties
- Current valid driver’s license

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Team Leader with urban, land or subdivision experience to join our Community Development team of engineers, designers and drafters in Hervey Bay. In this role you will manage the civil design and documentation on a variety of urban, land and subdivision projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive local and regional client portfolio. You will have the opportunity to resolve design constraints, coordinating projects, interfacing with various disciplines and delivering projects with the support of a multi-disciplinary team dispersed across the state.
Stantec's community development team are responsible for the delivery of a variety of projects across numerous disciplines and sectors of all sizes including but not limited to greenfield master planned communities, mixed-use developments, parks, recreation facilities, and streetscapes. We activate urban downtowns, suburban centers, small towns, and rural areas-and the multimodal corridors that connect us to the places we work, live, and thrive.
In this Team Leader role, you will have the opportunity lead technical design, section management and strategic direction of this office. You will represent the company externally to Clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
You will enjoy a diverse position and will need to have the ability to multitask and share your time between project involvement, business development, group performance, staff management and management responsibilities.
**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to delivery
+ Prepare technical reports and specifications
+ Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects
+ Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets
+ Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
+ Undertake and manage site inspections
+ Contribute to the development of Stantec's knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction
+ Mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
+ Direct line management of a team
+ Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients
+ Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Bachelor of Civil Engineering
+ Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects, ideally within urban, land and subdivisions
+ Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction
+ Project management skills
+ Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing.
+ Relevant registration and professional accreditations
+ Team leadership and mentoring experience

The Data Center Global Services (DCGS) team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive Civil Engineer to drive design and construction in a client-side technical lead role for the delivery of our enterprise data center campus projects.
As a Civil Engineer, you will work as part of the wider Data Center Design Engineering Team collaborating with our Real Estate, Construction and other partner teams. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of design delivery ensuring we continue to meet and exceed our industry leading quality and performance requirements.
Utilizing your Civil Engineering expertise, you will assist in site selection, assessment of due diligence reports, supporting with overall campus and site planning and development ultimately playing a pivotal role throughout the delivery of Data Center projects.
The successful candidate will be strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly with a history of delivering for their customers. The DCGS business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus. You must be able to work as part of a large and dynamic team, including many internal stakeholders, customers as well as external stakeholders like design consultants, developers and general contractors.
Key job responsibilities
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.
- Coordinate with Due Diligence teams to determine site selection criteria and review Due Diligence reports.
- Create, review, and release design RFPs.
- Manage our external civil/structural/architectural design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Review designs for grading, storm water, utilities, and pavement.
- Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP design engineers.
- Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction. Anticipated travel is approximately 25%.
A day in the life
Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Collaboration with international teams is essential, and you may need to travel for workshops to develop schematic and detailed design documentation packages.

Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ideally +10 years civil engineering experience on land development, large industrial, warehouse and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in earthworks, grading, paving, storm water, utility design and landscaping.
- Solid understanding of local standards and council design standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Australian professional Civil Engineering accreditation (CPENG, NER).
