**Description**
**About the role**
The role of Group Leader is to provide leadership, management, and strategic direction for the Building Services Group.
You will support Team Leaders and Project Technical Leads to ensure overall Group is consistently focused in terms of resourcing, safety, work winning, QA adherence, risk management, and staff morale. Support the career aspirations and learning and development requirements of Group staff. As well as support Sector Leaders in representing the company externally to Clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships. Reinforce cultural behaviours across the Group.
The building services group currently consists of the Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulics teams.
As Group Leader you will play a leading part in the delivery of projects, either through a technical leadership role or through a Project Management role.
**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Management of current and future workloads/staffing levels within the Group to achieve attainment of work received and utilisation targets.
+ Oversee resourcing management, which will be carried out by Team Leader(s).
+ Create and foster great Project Technical Leads and great Team Leaders.
+ Ensure that the Group maintains an appropriate level of service to key Clients, by supporting Sector Leaders, Market Leaders and Project Managers in the successful delivery of projects.
+ Have an awareness of all significant projects within the Group
+ Lead Group strategic direction in respect of the development of staff, both technical and professional.
+ Assist all direct reports to develop a clear career path strategy.
+ Proactively and regularly communicate with Group staff on strategic, risk, resourcing and workload issues via Group meetings, Team Leaders and other appropriate forums.
+ Regularly interact with and seek input from other members of the leadership group.
+ Be the first point of contact in the Group when we are made aware of significant technical issues on projects
+ Lead and foster a culture of continuous technical, procedural and QA improvement within the Group.
+ Ensure the Group acts in the interests of exceptional service -both internal and external.
+ Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.

**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Must have previous experience in a Building Services Consulting environment in Western Australia
+ Significant relevant and demonstrated experience in people and team leadership
+ Tertiary Engineering qualification
+ Licenced/chartered (or equivalent) status with relevant national industry body, or working towards, is highly regarded
+ 10 years professional experience in a relevant technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical or Hydraulics)

**Description**
Our Water Group has an exciting opening to lead our Water Infrastructure team within Queensland. In this role, you will report to the Water Business Leader - Queensland and provide leadership to the Water Infrastructure team to ensure alignment with company vision, strategy, initiatives, and culture. An essential element of the role is to support the Business Leader in state-based activities such as business development, business planning and performance in the Water Infrastructure sector. The role also has a strong focus on collaboration with Water business line peers from other offices and with group leaders of other business lines both within QLD and nationally. You will also be responsible for working with your team leaders to manage the group's professional development, career paths, safety and well-being. While leading the team, you will also be responsible for delivering high quality water network infrastructure consulting services (e.g. pipelines, pumping stations, tanks / reservoirs, etc).
You will provide leadership to your Water Infrastructure teams to ensure alignment to company vision, strategy, initiatives, and culture. You will be aware of the local Water Infrastructure market and the project pipeline that feeds your teams. You will typically lead or support with positioning and proposal efforts depending on the scale and complexity of the opportunity. Pursuits relevant to your teams are typically led by you or delegated to a Team Leader or team member. You will work closely with the Business Leader (BL), Project Management and Commercial Leader (PMCL), Market Leader (ML), and Practice Leaders (PLs) in your efforts, as well as Group and Team Leaders with similar market alignment within other regions.
You will ensure your teams are utilised on projects or focussed on activity that creates value if full time billable work is not available for a period. You will work with the PMCL and Project Managers (PMs) to ensure projects are adequately resourced to meet project requirements and that your teams are trained and appropriately skilled. You will work collaboratively with the regional leadership team to continually seek work for your teams.
**Specifically, your responsibilities will include:**

**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Relevant Tertiary Qualification
+ RPEQ status or ability to obtain within 3 months.
+ Minimum of 10 years' related work, leadership, financial management and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Ability to inspire, mentor, and lead a team of 40 professionals to consistently deliver exceptional results for our clients.
+ Exercise sound judgment under pressure by analysing information, weighing risks and opportunities, and making decisions aligned with organisational goals.
+ To commit to working in the Stantec South Brisbane office for at least 3 days / week.

**Description**
Our Water Group has an exciting opening to lead our Water Infrastructure team within Queensland. In this role, you will report to the Water Business Leader - Queensland and provide leadership to the Water Infrastructure team to ensure alignment with company vision, strategy, initiatives, and culture. An essential element of the role is to support the Business Leader in state-based activities such as business development, business planning and performance in the Water Infrastructure sector. The role also has a strong focus on collaboration with Water business line peers from other offices and with group leaders of other business lines both within QLD and nationally. You will also be responsible for working with your team leaders to manage the group's professional development, career paths, safety and well-being. While leading the team, you will also be responsible for delivering high quality water network infrastructure consulting services (e.g. pipelines, pumping stations, tanks / reservoirs, etc).
You will provide leadership to your Water Infrastructure teams to ensure alignment to company vision, strategy, initiatives, and culture. You will be aware of the local Water Infrastructure market and the project pipeline that feeds your teams. You will typically lead or support with positioning and proposal efforts depending on the scale and complexity of the opportunity. Pursuits relevant to your teams are typically led by you or delegated to a Team Leader or team member. You will work closely with the Business Leader (BL), Project Management and Commercial Leader (PMCL), Market Leader (ML), and Practice Leaders (PLs) in your efforts, as well as Group and Team Leaders with similar market alignment within other regions.
You will ensure your teams are utilised on projects or focussed on activity that creates value if full time billable work is not available for a period. You will work with the PMCL and Project Managers (PMs) to ensure projects are adequately resourced to meet project requirements and that your teams are trained and appropriately skilled. You will work collaboratively with the regional leadership team to continually seek work for your teams.
**Specifically, your responsibilities will include:**
* Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the correct staffing level and shape based on current and future workloads for their teams, and to support needs of other regions where required.
* Initiate and manage business development opportunities, actively participate in and lead client service through establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
* Foster authentic leadership, open communication, and a collaborative culture to enhance team cohesion, performance, and continuous improvement.
* Coordinate resource and technical development requirements with Practice Leaders, technical Discipline Leaders and other Group Leaders based locally and in other offices.
* Prepare and/or review proposals, variation estimates, and submission documents, and review and evaluate subconsultant submissions to ensure they are suitable.
* Ensure the business delivers work that secures repeat business for valued clients.
* Participate in projects as either Project Manager, Project Technical Leader or other substantive technical or delivery roles.
* Responsible for the team's talent management lifecycle including but not limited to; recruitment suggestions, career development, employee engagement, succession planning, coaching and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development.
* Review and monitor staff to ensure that performance objectives are being met, staff are engaged, and performance issues are managed promptly. Awareness of the mental health, and the general well-being of the staff.
* Work with partner Group Leaders (GLs) / Team Leaders (TLs) in other regions to drive collaboration and work sharing across the BC.
* Work with project delivery teams and Practice Leaders to drive quality and timely delivery of project deliverables to meet, and preferably, to exceed client expectations.
* Work with the Business Leader to ensure that health, safety, security and environmental requirements are met.
* Work with the PMCL to ensure that the Company's Project Management Fundamentals are adhered to, and that local PM's who report to you have the appropriate tools and training.
The Group Leader position is a function, in addition to an employee's substantive technical/project contribution role.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Relevant Tertiary Qualification
+ RPEQ status or ability to obtain within 3 months.
+ Minimum of 10 years' related work, leadership, financial management and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Ability to inspire, mentor, and lead a team of 40 professionals to consistently deliver exceptional results for our clients.
+ Exercise sound judgment under pressure by analysing information, weighing risks and opportunities, and making decisions aligned with organisational goals.
+ To commit to working in the Stantec South Brisbane office for at least 3 days / week.
