+ Strong understanding of risk analysis tools and techniques.
+ Expertise in system architecture and lifecycle management.
+ Ability to assess and mitigate technical, operational, and financial risks.

# Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
# Job Summary:
Bechtel is now accepting applications undergraduates in the fields of Science, Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) and Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety and Environment) to join our 2025 - 2026 Summer Intern Program located at our Energy Project (Pluto Train 2), located in Karratha, Western Australia. Bechtel's internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a student intern.
During this time, you'll see first-hand how our business works and take on tasks related directly to the construction of the project and internal initiatives, all which will give you valuable industry experience all while having a real impact on our organization. Interns work in our multidisciplinary teams, under a dedicated supervisor who will be responsible for providing you with a full and busy workload, whilst also ensuring we provide you with the best experience possible during your time with us. We're looking for a talented Senior Safety Specialist to join our team. You'll be passionate about partnering with the Middle mile team to ensure WHS risks are managed. We will expect you to continue to drive our Amazon WHS culture with the site leaders, raise high standards with contractors, and be instrumental in embedding Amazon WHS policies and processes and ensure compliance to all applicable local legislative obligations. By leveraging lean principles, you will lead continuous improvement to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our Associates.
A successful Senior Safety specialist will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
This senior safety specialist must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the occupational health and safety landscape.
You will possess excellent safety program knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations.
You will comfortable in working within a global company, and able to leverage from different parts of the world to support you in be successful in your role.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering WHS on CRM to provide updates on CRM advancement
- Partner with Ops Leaders to improve day-to-day safety.
- Manage 3PL at a country level with the support of the dedicated person in Projects team.
- Providing advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards. Develop country level WHS procedures and processes to meet Amazon Global Standards
- Completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards for contractors operations
- Measure sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
- Analyze safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
- Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions.
- Audit record-keeping practices and Global Safety Database (Austin) entries to be aligned with global safety standards and local regulations.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their WHS responsibilities under each policy.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Distribution Centre or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment

We're hiring a Principal Program Manager for Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) in Melbourne. You'll manage our risk-mitigation strategy and uphold the highest safety standards across our network. Reporting to the Senior WHS Country Leader, you'll collaborate with various teams to drive safety initiatives.
In this role, you will dive deep into Operations processes; identify risks through data and first-hand experience; build and execute programs, and improve processes to eliminate risks; and influence Operations to sustain a culture of safety. This role will focus on coordinating and leading large, strategic projects / programs within Amazon Business Units (BUs) and will be strongly focused on injury and accident prevention as well as improvements across health, safety and wellness.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify risks and improve WHS standards.
- Conduct WHS regulatory research and promote a safety-focused culture.
- Stay attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance to change standards when required.
- Measure business and site performance against published requirements in WHS standards. For all deficiencies, ensure plans are implemented to address areas of weakness.
- Understand and analyze WHS data and information (e.g. WHS laws, regulations, bench marking studies, industry best practices) to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where risk is highest.
- Manage regulatory relationships, including interactions, and identify trend areas for improvement.
- Analyze data and write technical reports on safety metrics and performance.
- Lead strategic projects to prevent injuries and enhance WHS practices.
- Support building WHS competency and awareness across different business units. Lead, develop and deploy a standard method for monitoring work performed by contractors, and consultants, in accordance with WHS standards.
Basic Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of growing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Bachelor's degree
- Deep knowledge of Safe Work Australia WHS Act, regulations, and Codes of Practice
- Familiarity with SafeWork Victoria/NSW and Heavy Vehicle National Law
- Proven ability to identify root causes and mitigate hazards
- Exceptional communication and project management skills
- Strong judgment and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience leading multiple direct reports.

We have an exciting opportunity for an HSE professional to join our iconic Cadbury site located in Ringwood, plus our Gourmet Food manufacturing site in Dandenong South. Manufacturing brands such as Olina's Bakehouse, OB's Finest and Crispbic.
In this role you will work closely with the ANZ HSE team, Site leadership team, Area managers, and Production teams to lead, coach, and drive the safety culture across the two sites, delivering a 'Zero Harm' mindset. Bring your passion and drive, ensuring the implementation, maintenance, administering and directing all HSE activities on sites are undertaken and in line with company policy, standards and statutory requirements.
**How you will contribute**
You will:
+ Lead and coach the site HSE team, site operations and functional teams to provide and deliver agreed health, safety, security & environmental plans in line with ANZ HSE strategy and objectives
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and continuous improvement in maintenance of HSE systems
+ Identify training needs and where required, organise and deliver training, provide on the job coaching to ensure all staff understand current policies and procedures.
+ Monitor, analyse and report on key HSE performance indicators to measure effectiveness of plans
+ Implement procedures and manage issues relating to injury management, rehabilitation and workers compensation practises
+ Negotiation with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver the site position on EHS matters
+ Facilitate the action plans that reduce environmental impact of the site and wider environment
+ Lead and coach IL6S HSE work processes to build capability of the core team in HSE
+ Identify risks and opportunities for improvement in the site with executive risk committee representation for Ringwood and Dandenong Sites
+ Facilitate action plans relating to security and Food Defense
**What you will bring**

+ Degree qualified in an applicable Science or Engineering discipline
+ Specific qualifications in Health & Safety
+ Significant experience in industry in the development and implementation of SEMS/IMS
+ 10+ years' experience in HSE roles
+ Solid understanding of operational & manufacturing sites and leadership experience in CPG/FMCG industry
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels
+ You are motivated and driven with proven leadership experience
