As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to perform mechanical repairs to vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in optimal condition. You will work to a high standard, following established company procedures and guidelines. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including vehicle servicing, driver training, and procedures.Provide friendly and professional advice to clients.Customise waste solutions while adhering to local, state, and national regulations and requirements. The Tasks Ahead Complete Vehicle Defect Notices in accordance with Vehicle Breakdowns and Vehicle Defects procedures.Perform tasks as directed by the Workshop Foreman.Notify the Workshop Foreman if parts required for maintenance and repairs are not in stock.Record all parts used with part number and applicable unit number.Ensure an appropriate service schedule is used when servicing vehicles. The service schedule is to be completed in full for each service.Fill out the Work Detail sheet accurately, recording inventory items used, part numbers, oils, and labour performed.Complete timesheet daily, recording vehicle unit number, work detail number, and labour hours worked.Supervise and assist with the training of apprentices.Ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy before leaving the Workshop.Work overtime as the Workshop Foreman directs to ensure vehicles are ready for operation the next day.Maintain tidiness and wear company uniform when performing work off-site.Adhere to all internal procedures applicable to all staff and procedures applicable to maintenance personnel only.RequirementsWho You Are
An individual with proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or a Light Vehicle Mechanic with some Heavy Vehicle experience looking to upskill.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and diagnostic tools.Ability to work independently and efficiently.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Valid HR Driver's Licence.Benefits Competitive salary based on experience (OTE).Opportunities for growth and advancement within the companyComprehensive benefits package.Supportive and collaborative work environment.
