**JOB PURPOSE:** Serve as sales liaison among dealers, customers and other Caterpillar personnel for rental related products and aftermarket sales within Asia Pacific region.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Sole responsibility for sales of rental related products and aftermarket sales activity for the designated coverage territory, counseling dealers; providing guidance on existing and potential customer service issues and improvement measures for rental related products and aftermarket sales; assisting dealers on forecast, sales/rental/used strategy planning and sales techniques; supporting rollout of new products (eg., products, parts, customer service agreements, other service products); analyzing and communicating marketplace and competitive activity to Caterpillar personnel and dealers; analyzing product application, configuration and utilization that provide the best solution for a customer; assisting dealers with business planning for the designated territory; and creating and promoting programs that increase sales while maximizing price realization.
Requires incumbent to keep current on customer/dealer market needs. Applies product & industry knowledge in support of Cat, dealer & customer expectations in both the short term and long-term horizons. Implements and delivers on global Cat rental team dealer and market strategy.
Work independently on assignments and collaboratively within EPD. Managing own assignments and keeping up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the marketplace is a requirement
Interacts with high-level professionals (internal & external) and must exhibit excellent communication, financial acumen, and relationship building skills, in particular with distributor principals and dealer sales managers.
Responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned
Requires extensive travel: 70%
When not traveling this position requires you to work full time from the Melbourne, Tullamarine office.
**Required Skills and Experience:**
+ Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
+ This position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience.
+ 3 years of specific industry experience and/or recognized expertise in electric power industries and markets
+ Previous customer/dealer facing experience
+ Demonstrated the ability to work autonomously, communicate effectively with consultants, dealers and others in the work group

+ Technical knowledge of gensets, switchgear, uninterruptable power supply, automatic transfer switch, photovoltaic, microgrid, energy storage and/or packaging
