Job Summary:
The VitRet manager is responsible for both Vitreoretinal portfolio in VitRet accounts covering equipment and consumable upgrades, as well as lead generation for our Visualization portfolio.
Responsibilities:
As a VitRet Manager – Surgical Sales you will run demos with the support of technical service and partner with VitRet consultants (where applicable) to upgrade procedures and defend competition. In this role, a typical day can include:
- Total Alcon sales performance:
- VitRet equipment including Paks.
- Vit procedure and other consumables upgrade.
- Lead generation for Visualization for VSMs.
- Maintaining and optimizing existing relationships and manages business with existing key customers.
- Promoting and driving utilization relationships and manages business with existing key customers.
- Providing feedback on competitor activities in the field via line management.
- Identifying equipment opportunities and support market development.
- Maintaining and upholding an excellent company image, including personal presentation.
- Deep knowledge of both the Phaco & VitRet portfolios.
- Ability to actively find new leads, especially competitive conversions.
- Ability to articulate the benefit of AVS connectivity.
- Ability to provide commercial solutions (EFAs, bundles, rentals).
- Ability to upgrade VitRet procedure to better speeds/gauges, as well as additional consumables.
- Effectively and efficiently presents &/or conveys clear, complete, and focused information.
- Interacts with people at all levels of authority; tailors’ messages to audiences and listens to the views of others. Demonstrates sensitivity and awareness to other people and cultures.
- Logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
- Ability to work independently; proactive in taking initiative.
- Possesses excellent trust building relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Demonstrates sound business decision making, based on fairness and consistency.
- Experience with CRM applications (such as Salesforce) to manage relationships, complete account and call planning is desired.
- Tertiary qualifications in optometry, orthoptics, science or business
- 3 years of experience in medical devices &/or pharma within a surgical environment.
- Proven sales experience preferably with medical devices.
- Consultant experiences for high-end medical consumables or capital equipment – preferred

Our Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management portfolio has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Specialist to be based in Melbourne and report to the Service Innovation Manager.

+ Partnering with sales colleagues to develop and execute account sales strategies for the business unit
+ Providing the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers by supporting field teams with technical in-services and presentations to customers

+ Support sales & marketing programs with specific complimentary activities as provided by the Marketing team
+ Participating in conventions, forums, and meetings to increase product awareness
+ Working closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management and Regional Sales team to provide customer case and sales support
+ Gather market intelligence on customer and competitor activity and communicate to Territory Managers and Divisional Staff.
+ Identifying and facilitating execution on growth opportunities with Sales and Clinical Support Team.
+ Monitor field inventory effectively and ensure appropriate levels relative to demand in locations.
+ Support clinical study activities in conjunction with Territory Manager and the Clinical Research team
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ High School Diploma with minimum of 6 years relevant experience OR Associate Diploma with minimum of 4 years relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 2 years relevant experience
+ Demonstrated understanding of the function and purpose of pacing products in order to operate
+ as a technical support expert with experience in pacing, clinical or medical device industry setting.
+ Required to travel up to 25%, valid driver's licence required

Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Represent the affiliate's medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned product(s) and relevant therapeutic areas. Provide medical / scientific expert advice / guidance to key customers for assigned products and relevant therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange and professional relationship development with key thought leaders / external experts. Provide medical / scientific input into Medical Affairs strategies for the affiliate medical department and commercial plans, as required, and medical / scientific support for medical department activities under the overall direction of the Affiliate Medical Director. Provide medical affairs support to cross-functional affiliate teams.
Key duties & Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain in depth knowledge for assigned product(s) / relevant therapeutic area(s) through attendance / participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, relevant congresses, and seminars and by regular self-study of the national/international literature.
+ Provide expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products and related therapeutic areas, including responding to requests for scientific/technical information; contribute to the development and medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers generated by the medical department (i.e. pricing and reimbursement dossiers, HEOR dossiers, medical information packs, clinical expert reviews etc.).
+ Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with key thought leaders / external experts and academic centers; this will involve participating in scientific congresses, coordinating advisory boards, round-table meetings, discussion fora etc.
+ Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where appropriate.
+ Screen relevant literature and other information from relevant scientific societies meetings and conferences and develop summaries of key messages for use within the Company (e.g. key areas of scientific/company interest, new trends in diagnosis, monitoring and treatments in the therapeutic area, etc.)
+ Deliver training to sales forces and other departments; develop and update relevant training materials.
+ Clinical Research Activities:
+ Design and implement clinical research projects within defined standards and budgets (e.g. Phase IV, post marketing clinical activities such as registry/database projects, epidemiological surveys, and PMOS studies).
+ Provide the required oversight to manage review, approval and conduct of IIS studies.
+ Support the affiliate Clinical Research Department in the management of clinical studies, as appropriate (e.g. review new clinical study protocols, identifying potential investigators/sites, conducting feasibility surveys).
+ Review of promotional and development of non-promotional (medical) material. Ensure the medical/scientific content is correct and fully compliant with AbbVie's internal policies and guidelines.
+ Provide medical/scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives, as required. Monitor the environment for competitive intelligence (e.g. product strategies, studies, commercial messages, positioning, etc.) and communicate, where appropriate, within the Company.
