**About the opportunity:**
+ Lead and coordinate a timely and accurate month-end close process in line with US GAAP and Group reporting timelines.
+ Oversee all local reporting requirements including annual audit; indirect tax filings (GST/FBT), and corporate income tax filings.
+ Ensure the consistent application of financial and operational controls, including SOX and global policy implementation.
+ Partner with the CFO, Finance Business Partners and regional/global teams on key initiatives, accounting treatments and policy changes.
+ Oversee AR and AP functions.
+ Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, including US GAAP and IFRS interpretations.
+ Lead and develop a high-performing controllership team.
+ Co-ordinate with Shared Services, Tax and Treasury teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
+ Contribute to global finance transformation and continuous improvement projects.
**About You:**
+ Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with minimum 10+ years post qualified experience.
+ Previous recent experience with US GAAP or ASX controlled environment or Big 4 audit experience will be highly advantageous.
+ Strong AIFRS and local tax knowledge including FBT and GST and experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting.
+ Demonstrated expertise in financial control, audit and internal controls.
+ Well-developed leadership skills and the ability to lead and mentor teams located in Brisbane and offshore to drive best practice.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex problems to all stakeholders.
+ Maintain a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
+ Resilient in challenging situations and able to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.

The Financial Planning & Accounting (FP&A) Analyst is responsible for supporting the business through the coordination, preparation, reporting and provision of accurate and concise analysis of the company's budgets and forecasts. The role supports the development of the company's long-range financial plans and annual operations plans, functional overhead budgets (indirect and direct), preparation of the monthly financial reports for each business unit, coordination and explanation of monthly and year to date variances and insightful analysis of drivers of business performance.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications:**
+ Requires a University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.

To meet the growing demand for accounting services in EMEA, we need exceptionally skilled and driven people to join our teams in Cork. You will be working alongside high-performing finance professionals supporting Amazon's operations across a wide range of business areas.
Relocation assistance will be provided, and the role will be based onsite in Cork, Ireland.
Our EMEA accounting teams each focus on specific areas, here's an overview of the teams you could join:
Revenue, OpEx and Business Expansion Teams:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kuiper are a key part of Amazon and are fast-paced, high-growth and rapidly expanding businesses. These teams are responsible for supporting our corporate entity landscape and enabling business growth through product portfolio expansion. They manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for Revenue & related Opex accounts in both US GAAP and local GAAP reporting.
Statutory Reporting Team:
The Statutory Reporting team is responsible for the production of financial statements for over 100 entities across EMEA, spanning AWS, Kuiper and other related businesses. This team oversees statutory audits, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness in achieving key accounting KPIs. The focus is on delivering speed and controllership in financial reporting, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards.
Fixed Asset & Supply Chain Accounting Team:
This team partners with global stakeholders on business launches, supply chain initiatives, and complex capital transactions for AWS, Kuiper and our Consumer business. They manage monthly closes under US and Local GAAP, address compliance matters, and represent fixed asset accounting in key business projects with commercial impact.
Lease & Renewable Energy Accounting Team:
This team manages a portfolio of real estate, equipment leases, and renewable energy contracts across AWS and Kuiper activities in EMEA. They drive process innovation and automation while ensuring accurate lease and energy accounting, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance. Their expertise supports timely financial closes, audit requirements, and initiatives through efficient portfolio management and technical knowledge.
Global Finance Transformation (GFT) Team:
The GFT team focuses on delivering innovative solutions and process improvements across accounting teams. The team collaborates with global accounting groups to automate reporting, improve data accuracy, and streamline workflows. They enhance local authority, audit, and compliance reporting, reduce manual effort, and accelerate financial reporting, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
