The Opportunity
The Senior Commissioning Officer position will be responsible for all aspects of the commissioning of substations and shall ensure successful delivery of projects. You will support in scheduling, planning and executing commissioning activities.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
- Commissioning of Primary and Secondary equipment within a substation;
- Assist the Design Office to prepare and develop HV system designs for projects and bids under preparation.
- Create FAT and SAT documentation for installations to be commissioned.
- Carry out pre-commissioning tests and commissioning of new and refurbished parts and systems
- Manage and supervise on-site work in accordance with project requirements and legislative and regulatory requirements
- Provide timely “As Built” documentation
About You
Desired Skills and Experience
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess
- Qualifications in an Electrical Trade or Associate Diploma or Electrical Engineering Degree;
- Omicron CMC/CPC100/Testrano/CTA. (Or experience with similar Doble brand equipment)
- CT/VT and transformer testing experience.
- HV cable testing.
- Protection relay and software experience using Micom, Siemens, SEL and ABB.
- SCADA/61850 and networking experience (Desirable).
- Be comfortable with travel and working outside of NSW.
- Experience in developing tenders, negotiating contracts and effectively managing customer relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.

**Job Description**
AECOM's Cost Management Team has an opportunity in Brisbane, for an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our successful team. We are open to speaking with Associate Quantity Surveyors, Associate Director Quantity Surveyors or Technical Director-level quantity surveyors.
This role will work on a variety of market sectors including sports infrastructure, health, education and Defence sector projects.
**How you'll make a difference:**
+ Lead and deliver cost management and quantity surveying services for major projects across Queensland and nationally, with a focus on **sports infrastructure, education, healthcare, and** **Defence** .
+ Oversee project cost planning from early feasibility to delivery, including estimating, value engineering, risk analysis, and whole-of-life costing.
+ Provide **technical leadership and mentorship** to junior and mid-level professionals, driving capability development and delivery excellence.
+ Build trusted client relationships, offering **strategic commercial advice** and supporting informed decision-making throughout project lifecycles.
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, represent AECOM in industry forums, and support business development to grow our client base.
**Qualifications**

+ 15+ years' post-graduate experience in quantity surveying / cost management with a strong track record delivering complex projects in sports, education, healthcare, or defence.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of Australian construction contracts, procurement strategies, and industry standards.
+ Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Engineering, ideally with AIQS or RICS accreditation.
+ Australian citizenship or an active/eligible Defence clearance preferred, along with advanced proficiency in CostX and Microsoft Suite.
