**About the role**
Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer looking for the next step in your career? Due to a strong pipeline of new project work we are looking for a Geotechnical Lead based in our Newcastle office. **Day to day tasks may involve:**
+ Perform advanced engineering design tasks on assigned projects exercising independent judgment, initiative, and in-depth evaluation of various factors for addressing and resolving unusual and complex issues or situations.
+ Supervises and review the preparation of engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
+ Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for complex projects that require specialist knowledge; support Team Leader and marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, developing proposals exercising commercial and technical judgement, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders in client project requirement meetings, coordination meetings with internal and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors in preparation and coordination of project specifications.
+ Provide project leadership for geotechnical matters and from a point of view related to geotechnical engineering. Participate in the successful delivery of projects from a commercial, financial and technical point of view.
+ Provide mentorship and technical support to junior geotechnical engineers and assist the Team Leader with developing the technical capability and capacity of the team. Assist the Team Leader to ensure technical excellence and sound delivery of all project related work.
+ Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
+ Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of geotechnical engineering and keeps informed of new methods and developments.
**Qualifications**
**To be successful for this role you'll need to:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
+ Ideally have 10 years of experience in a similar capacity with professional registration.
+ Engineer of record on own work product, work of non-licensed engineers and technologist (i.e. Sign PS1s for own work and work supervised).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills to develop, maintain and enhance internal and client relationships.
+ Proven experience in time management and organisational skills including the ability to manage resources and delegate tasks effectively.
+ Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.
+ Ongoing commitment to professional development through self-study, training and seminars, and maintaining your Continual Professional Development (CPD).

- Support EC&I Engineering Team with site related EC&I work at tender and project stage
- Get involved in tendering and the design of EC&I site work for projects
- Prepare and review RFQs for site installation works and material for projects

- Prepare detailed commissioning plan & scheduling with project manager

**_What Will You Do?_**
- Responsible for on time and on budget delivery of EC&I site installations
- Supervise site EC&I installation crew
- Coordinate activities with site supervisor and supervisors of other disciplines on site e.g. mechanical contractors, civil contractors etc.
- Liaise with clients site representatives and develop/maintain good relationship - maintain positive image of Howden on site
- Troubleshooting and hands on fault finding as required
- Inspection and testing of equipment
- Develop testing, commissioning, isolation, energisation or other project related procedures
- Red markup the IFC drawings during testing and commissioning phase
- Update the red markup drawings using AutoCAD or ePLAN (Basic training will be provided by Howden for updating drawings in ePLAN platform)
- Review, compile and submit site pre-energisation documentation to client.
- Update the technical documents including the cable schedule, IO list, termination schedule based on site mark ups
- Provide assessment of existing EC&I installations
- Compile and submit handover documentation to client
- Prepare and review RFQs for site installation work and material for projects
- Coordinate with EC&I design and project engineer for each phase of project
- Coordinate with Project Manager for site deliverables update
- Coordinate with Procurement Engineer for site deliverable follow up
- Coordinate with client & suppliers for the closure of punch list items at the end of works
- Health and Safety
o Take all reasonable care for own personal health and safety, as well as for that of everyone who may be affected by your action in your workplace and under your supervision.
o Liaise and co-operate with company management with regards to the current health and safety legislation and obligations within the location and area of your duties
o Prepare JSEA Job safety analysis document and liaise with internal & external departments for review & approval
**_Your Physical Work Environment Will Require._**
Qualifications
- Qualified electrician with valid supervisory certificate
- Hands on experience (Minimum 5 Years) working with Low voltage or Controls panel building
- Hands on experience (Minimum 5 Years) working with electrical LV and ELV installations
- Qualified in health and safety requirements for site work
- Certified to sign-off non hazardous installations
Additional qualification as an advantage
- Qualified as hazardous area electrician
- Certified to sign-off hazardous installations
Knowledge of MV, LV, control & instrumentation installations
- Knowledge of hazardous area installations
- Able to use various testing equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian standards including AS3000 wiring
- Knowledge of Australian legislation and regulations relevant to EC&I works
- Knowledge of industrial PLC systems
- Understand and prepare PLC input / output list with help from a project design engineer
- Able to perform slight modifications on panels while working on site as required and advised by Design & Project Engineer
- Review of supplier drawings and provide comments to the engineer

- Minimum 5 years of working experience on mining sites
- Minimum of 5 years working as a certified supervisor on mining sites
- Excellent understanding of Isolation and energisation procedures
- Good understanding of MV, LV, control and instrumentation equipment
- Good Experience in EC&I mining installation surface and underground
- Good experience in testing and fault finding
- Good experience in installation crew management
- Excellent experience in Health and Safety related issues and activities on site

1. To ensure new and aftermarket Howden products are installed, operated and maintained to Howden standards and client requirements within Australia and overseas in a safe and reliable way.
2. To assist customers with product challenges, product performance and training, along with assisting the Service Sales person in generating quotes and winning business.
**_What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be._**
Accountabilities
1. Commissioning of New Compression Installations
o Check the installation and alignment of equipment. Start machinery, check vibrations and temperatures and run the for a test period on Howden Screw, Piston and Centrifugal compressors.
o Complete a Commissioning Report including check sheets and a Practical Completion Certificate for contract closures.
o Ensure the machine is ready for full production service.
2. Servicing of Existing Compression Installations
o Undertake servicing in terms of customer planned maintenance contracts, equipment overhauls, carry out required maintenance and produce a report of work done in order to comply with the Service Level Agreement
3. Site/Project Management
o Manage contract staff, liaise with client representative/s, budget management, and maintain schedules including progress reports, OHSE management, quality control management, equipment management and accommodation management to ensure acceptable results for Howden and the Clients.
4. Troubleshooting
o Carry out detailed machinery analysis, interpret results and liaise with Howden engineering department on how to most efficiently resolve customer problems.
5. Aftermarket Sales Support
o Assist Sales Manager with scope of works and site activities to carry out the works.
o Visit site with Sales manager
6. Legal, Health and Safety
o Take all reasonable care for own personal health and safety, as well as for that of everyone who may be affected by your action in your workplace.
o Liaise and co-operate with company management with regards to the current health and safety legislation and obligations within the location and area where you performing your duties.
7. Training
o Train customers and fellow Field Service Engineers on the installation, operation and maintenance of Howden Screw, Piston and Centrifugal compressor equipment and applications.
**_Your Education Should Be._**
o Qualified technician.
o Demonstrated experience in solving complex issues logically in the field

**_Your Physical Work Environment Will Require._**
o Technical/mechanical solutions - choosing the solution - more than one way to deal with a problem.
o Personnel Issues - safe work approach over scheduling challenges.
o Take decisions to repair or replace.
o When to refer a customer to the Manager if they are not satisfied with the decision/solution presented.
o Decide if work is being performed safely or should it stop and be re-assessed.
**_Your Professional Experience Should Be._**
o Minimum 5 years working experience on industrial compression units installed in chemical, Power and oil and gas industries including Howden Screw, Piston and Centrifugal compressors.

**Primary purpose of the role**

+ Actively participates in the quality improvement process by reporting all incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement.
+ Completes clinical and mandatory competencies annually Performs defined management functions when required.
+ Maintains accurate patient information in medical records, including Therapy Data Management System (TDMS) and abides by confidentiality and Privacy Policy.
**Competencies** (attitude, skills, typical qualifications & experience)
**Essential:**
+ Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)  Current practising certificate.
+ Understanding of the Quality improvement process and risk management obligations
+ Demonstrated clinical competence and expertise (or working towards) in nephrology nursing.
+ Ability to continuously reflect on nursing practice and apply learning as appropriate.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to operate within a multidisciplinary team.
+ Demonstrated organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to be self-directed.
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively perform staff and patient education.
+ Knowledge of nursing, nephrology and other professional issues which impact on nursing practice within the specialty.
**Desirable:**
+ Nephrology nursing theory and practice.
+ Computer literacy.
+ Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement initiatives.
