As a Naval Architect/Structural Engineer within the Design and Engineering Change Team, you will work alongside other Engineering Disciplines to liaise with our stakeholders, to Survey and Quote Engineering Changes and develop, review and support the approval of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and technical investigations.
Your new role will provide you with the opportunity to learn, share your knowledge and be mentored on System Engineering methodology and processes. Enabled by the support of the Engineering Manager, you will also be enrolled in our national Engineering network. Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our end Customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Act as the technical interface between stakeholders, conducting Engineering Changes to derive functional, performance and interface requirements to meet structural requirements.
+ Plan and lead assigned engineering projects from concept through to Detailed Design Review, including EC scoping (SOWs, RFQs, BOEs, schedules, and engagement with stakeholders).
+ Demonstrated experience gained in developing platform engineering changes, participation in design reviews, undertaking typical design analysis and implementation of solutions, their integration, verification and validation.
+ Engage in structural and ship design, shock and vibration, dockings, trim and stability, hydrostatics and naval outfitting (structural closures, Fire Protection, deck arrangements and equipment, ladders/platforms, cargo handling systems and equipment, foundation).
+ Perform technical risk analysis to support the development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments and risk mitigation actions in accordance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System and the Navy Safety Management System.
+ Collaborating with internal and external stakeholder; securing Raytheon Australia's reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions to our customers.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
+ Tertiary Qualification in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including ability to attain RPEQ recognition.
+ Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
+ Experience in conducting Structural discipline activities including involvement in one or more of the following System Engineering practices - Requirements Development, Engineering Design, Design Integration, Verification and Validation.
+ Develop and review of engineering documentation such as structural calculations, docking calculations, stability calculations, work instructions, test procedures and engineering reports.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier and senior leadership levels.
+ Experience in ship structural design and sustainment and its application to local structure and foundations.
+ Knowledge of statutory regulations and Classification and Flag state rule sets.
+ Experience using CAD and Finite Element Analysis programs.

**The Role**
The MV CLCM Industry & Supply Chain Manager reports to the Deputy Project Director and works within a split responsibility model, managing Australian Industry Capability and supply chain activities within Raytheon and Defence systems; collaborating across the company, MV Asset Class and suppliers to deliver outcomes.

+ Develop and maintain the MV SPO supply chain strategy, cognisant of changes to the MV capability Operating Support Intent and budget provisions;
+ Develop, deploy, and provide guidance in relation to supply chain governance arrangements, including effective supplier due diligence, supplier performance management, supplier relationship management and implementation of supply chain business systems, ensuring that these are aligned with requirements;
+ Develop, maintain, analyse, and advise on supply chain metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives, cost effective outcomes, financial savings, and productivity improvements;
+ Management of the AIC obligations, specifically:
+ Market testing activities;
+ Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including Enterprise partners, suppliers, Office of Defence Industry Support, state government defence departments, and industry groups;
+ Act as a point of contact for general industry enquiries relating to MV life cycle management; and
+ Identify opportunities to increase indigenous-owned and veteran-owned businesses in the MV supply chain.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
+ Requires a University Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience);
+ Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience (when a university degree is held);
+ Expert knowledge of Australian industry and government with established networks.
+ Demonstrated experience in:
+ Collaborating across multi-disciplinary and geographic dispersed teams;
+ Development of a resilient supply chain and ability to plan, implement and manage strategic supplier relationships;

The Opportunity
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) role is an exciting opportunity for a junior project manager looking to take the next step in their career and to learn from the best in the market to grow their Project Management CV. The APM will work on a variety of impressive Defence and nuclear related projects and be mentored and supported by a team of industry specialists. The role will support Project Managers and Design Managers with project management tasks, delivery control, project audits and overall project quality control. Another key element of the role will involve assisting with tender submissions, including drafting technical content, coordinating document production, transmittal of documents and maintaining upcoming project management and design services pursuit registers.
Other key responsibilities include;
+ Coordinate proposal development activities with Sales and admin support staff
+ Prepare operational and market sector internal governance reporting
+ Support internal governance requirements for proposals and projects
+ Coordinate market sector business development activities
+ Plan, coordinate and support the conduct of internal and project workshops and other engagements
+ Assist the entire team with administrative duties, including, timesheets, travel, accommodation, functions, catering, etc
+ Assist Project Managers & Design Managers with monitoring the project scope, including regular review of design documents and amendment of design documents to meet the client's project brief, budget etc
Who are you?
The ideal candidate will have 5 + years post-graduate project management experience working with/for the Department of Defence. Tertiary qualifications in a related field are also preferred (project management, construction management, engineering, architecture).
