br>Duties and responsibilities-
1. Creating innovative and seasonal menus by collaborating with Head chef/ manager, by taking special consideration of the customer preferences, availability of ingredients and dietary restrictions.
2. ssisting Head Chef in planning menus for special events and bookings.
3. Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and standards.
4. Oversee cooks, kitchen and restaurant staff by delegating tasks and providing guidance.
5. Monitor prep work and tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and sauteing or grilling ingredients.
6. Ensure all dishes are met high quality standard by maintaining excellence in food preparation and plating.
7. Train new kitchen staff by demonstrating them proper food handling techniques, safety procedures and sanitisation practices.
8. Adhere to strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen environment by ensuring proper storage of ingredients, regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces, and maintaining temperature controls.
9. Monitor inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, ordering additional items as needed to ensure that the kitchen can operate smoothly without running out of essential ingredients, while ensuring no wastage of food due to over stocking.
10. Participate in budgeting process to assist restaurant manager and head chef by providing estimates of kitchen costs.
11. May interact directly with customers, taking special orders, accommodating dietary restrictions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
12. Keep up to date information with the industry trends and develop new and innovative menu items.
Qualifications and Skills:
• C rtificate IV or Diploma in a relevant field. < r>• 1 2 years of experience in a chef role. < r>• E pertise in culinary techniques, menu development, and current food trends. < r>• S rong team management skills. < r>• C mprehensive understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations. < r>• A ility to perform well under pressure and manage multiple tasks. < r>• F exibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays. < r>
Salary range: $76,000 - $85,000 per annum
