Step Up Process Assistant Opportunity:
We are recruiting for talent to join our Step Up Process Assistant pool at MEL8/AVV4. This is a opportunity to step up into a process assistant role for a period of time.
Process Assistants form an integral part of Amazon's Middle Mile operations, contributing significantly to the team's dynamic growth. Process Assistants are responsible for daily management of department duties including: allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, providing work direction and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
Please note the shift pattern is variable, based on 4 days on and 3 days off including weekends.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Track and report labor hours
- Occasionally, assist with production duties, train associates and verify SOP (standard operating procedure) compliance
- Ensure successful area performance through tracking and reporting metrics
- Independently assess all aspects of associate work performance and provide timely and detailed feedback
- Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives
- Maintain a full understanding of workflow and daily production goals
- Review and update SOP's as required
- Ensure work areas remain clean and are properly equipped
- Identify and address safety hazards within the work area, and participate in safety initiatives
- Coach associates on ways to work safely at all times
- Ensure all job injuries are reported timely in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Provide leave coverage for Shift Managers
Basic Qualifications
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Key job responsibilities
Assist with risk assessments as required and follow-up control measures to completion.
Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of a Coordinators knowledge. Know their level of competence and not provide information outside this level.
Monitor the site for compliance with company safety procedures.
Assist in the implementation of Regional WHS management programs at site level.
Assist with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop required action plans with relevant processes.
Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses and accidents, Area Observations, Safety Inspections, pre-start records and 'Safety Saves'.
Be involved in undertaking action plans to ensure continuing compliance with Legislation.
Be able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations.
Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures to ensure compliance.
Carry out WHS training sessions for managers and associates as required.
Flexibility on hours worked to cover shifts and escalations as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with planning, performance metrics, and process improvement
- Bachelors degree in a Safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety.
Preferred Qualifications
