**About the role**
Our established NSW Planning team is looking for a new **Team Leader** to join us on a permanent basis, within our Wollongong or Sydney offices. This role will contribute to Stantec business goals by providing leadership and mentoring the planning team, whilst also providing professional planning advice in both statutory and strategic planning.

**Day to day tasks would involve:**

+ Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing and a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.

+ Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects including identification of business resource requirements.
+ Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.

+ Lead and assist with the preparation of tender documentation.

**Qualifications**
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
+ Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing
+ Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
+ Self-motivated and self-directed

**About the role**
Our established NSW Planning team is looking for a Principal Planner to join us on a permanent basis, within our Wollongong or Sydney offices. This role will contribute to Stantec business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice in both statutory and strategic planning.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, and also work independently as a Principal Planner on your own projects. Our team works on a range of land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales.

**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing and a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
+ Act as project manager with planning, programming and coordination of projects to ensure that project outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
+ Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects including identification of business resource requirements.
+ Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
+ Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client's expectations.
+ Lead and assist with the preparation of tender documentation.
+ Foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
+ Grow, develop and mentor junior staff.
**Qualifications**
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing
+ Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
+ Self-motivated and self-directed
+ Interest in working on a broad variety of projects
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers and clients.
+ Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
+ Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
