We have a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Community Development team in Darwin. Reporting to the Civil Team Lead, you will have an opportunity to work on and manage civil design projects including roads infrastructure, subdivisions and remote community facilities. This is a great career pathway for an experienced Civil Engineer who seeks to grow their technical and leadership capabilities in a global engineering consultancy.

**About the role**
This role includes project design and delivery across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design, construction documentation and supervision. The role will require independent design, project delivery and stakeholder management.
The role will suit will an experienced Civil Engineer with Australian experience, someone who has good technical design background, strong consulting engineering and project delivery skills over a range of projects.
**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Civil design and project management across a wide range of projects
+ Construction phase support, design review, stakeholder management, liaison with authorities, reporting, contract administration and quality audits.
+ Liaising with engineers, designers, and drafters
+ Adhering to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.
+ Managing clients and other consultants.
+ Assist with project management and business development.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
+ Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and documentation
+ Knowledge of applicable Australian standards, codes and Territory requirements
+ Obtain CP Eng and NT Registration as soon as eligible
+ Eligible to obtain Defence baseline security clearance

# Project Overview:
The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met.
_This is a fulltime position with possible work from home options as per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with function or project leadership._
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc.
+ Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
+ Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
+ Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
+ Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
+ Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
+ Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements
+ Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations

Reporting to the Group Leader, you will have an opportunity to lead a team to deliver civil design projects including roads infrastructure, subdivisions and remote community facilities. **About the role**
This role includes project design and delivery across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design, construction documentation and supervision. The role will require independent design, project delivery and stakeholder management.
The role will suit will a Senior Civil Engineer with Australian experience, someone who has good technical design background, strong consulting engineering and project delivery skills over a range of projects.
**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Civil design and project management across a wide range of projects
+ Construction phase support, design review, stakeholder management, liaison with authorities, reporting, contract administration and quality audits.
+ Liaising with engineers, designers, and drafters
+ Adhering to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.
+ Managing clients and other consultants.
+ Assist with project management and business development.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
+ Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and documentation
+ Knowledge of applicable Australian standards, codes and Territory requirements
+ Obtain CP Eng and NT Registration as soon as eligible
+ Eligible to obtain Defence baseline security clearance

# Project Overview:
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah Riyadh highway.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Plans and conducts independent Civil/Structural work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit
+ Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
+ Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned
+ Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
+ Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
+ Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
+ Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
+ Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting

# Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Experience in leading civil design activities and interfacing within a broader multiple discipline project team
+ Demonstrated report writing skills
+ Demonstrated technical capabilities in front end engineering studies preferred
+ In depth knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, guides & procedures and codes relevant to civil discipline

In addition, the team are delivering major capital projects to South East Water's record $1.5 billion investment as part of a new industry partnership between Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK). The 10-year contract will see ABK plan and deliver major infrastructure upgrades in partnership with South East Water as part of a new integrated capital works planning and delivery model.

Who are you?
You are a design focused Senior Civil Engineer experienced in detailed design, running projects, customer interaction and mentoring juniors.
You will be motivated by achievement, outcome-focused and present professionally to peers, clients, and stakeholders. You will have previous experience designing major projects across water pipelines from 250mm-1000mm diameter, understand or have experience in sewer design, trunk mains and pump stations through various stages of the design lifecycle.
You possess a pragmatic approach to the development of constructable design solutions and have proven commercial acumen in the delivery of water infrastructure.
You will have the following skills and experience:
+ You are a Chartered Engineer (CEng) having delivered various complex detailed design projects
+ You have demonstrated experience in the water infrastructure sector in a consulting environment.
+ Proven ability to work in, and lead, engineering, planning and design modelling teams, work directly with water authority clients, and manage projects to scope, budget and program.
