Our client is looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join their dedicated aged care team. In this role, you will help residents live with dignity, independence and wellbeing, while working in a supportive and respectful community environment. You will be responsible for delivering safe and high-quality clinical care, managing medications, monitoring health conditions and providing hands-on nursing support tailored to each resident’s individual needs. Your commitment to person-centred care will ensure that every resident receives the best possible support to maintain their health, comfort and quality of life. Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to elderly residents, especially those with complex and changing health conditions. < r>• eliver clinical care such as medication administration, wound care, chronic disease management and palliative care, in line with best practice. < r>• A sist residents and their families to make informed decisions about their care, ensuring their wishes and preferences are respected. < r>• R spond promptly and professionally to any changes in residents’ conditions and to clinical emergencies.
• R view and update care plans regularly to reflect changing health status and personal goals. < r>• E sure all nursing activities, progress notes and observations are clearly and accurately documented according to policy and legislative requirements. < r>• S pervise and mentor Enrolled Nurses, Personal Care Workers and other support staff to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery. < r>• P ovide clear clinical direction and guidance, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. < r>• S pport staff to develop their knowledge and skills in aged care best practice. < r>• M intain a safe, supportive and homelike environment that promotes residents’ health, comfort, security and quality of life.
• P rticipate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the resident experience. < r>• T ke part in ongoing training and professional development to keep up to date with aged care best practices, policies and regulatory requirements. < r>• A tively contribute to a positive workplace culture focused on learning, respect and excellence in care. < r>
Skills & Experience
• C rrent registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. < r>• M nimum one year of practical nursing experience, ideally in residential or community aged care. < r>• N IS Worker Screening Check (current or dated within five years). < r>• F lly vaccinated for influenza (annually) and COVID-19. < r>• D monstrated understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and person-centred care principles. < r>• S rong teamwork and leadership skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. < r>• O n reliable transport. < r>• C mmitment to long-term employment in a caring, community-focused aged care setting. < r>

About the Role
This is a rare leadership opportunity for a dynamic aged care manager to build and oversee a culturally safe, community-driven home care program for Palm Island Elders.
- FIFO from Townsville several days per week – the rest of your time is based locally
- Lead all aspects of aged care delivery: program management, care planning, staffing, training, and compliance
- Embed the Aged Care Quality Standards, Code of Conduct, and Rights Charter
- Oversee staff performance, training, and continuous quality improvement
- Collaborate with local health, government, and community partners
- Contribute directly to community wellbeing, cultural safety, and Elder empowerment
- Bachelor of Nursing and AHPRA registration (unrestricted)
- Minimum 2 years in aged care at a managerial level – ideally in home care
- Strong leadership, team development and service design experience
- Proven understanding of aged care standards and compliance
- Cultural competence and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Willingness to FIFO to Palm Island multiple days per week
