The opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Security Officer to join KBR Australia Defence & Security Solutions Security Team.
Reporting to the Senior Security Officer, you will be required to enforce and monitor security procedures, ensure compliance with all aspects of government and company security policies and procedures relating to physical access to buildings, governance, personnel and ICT/cyber security.
You will work with a small team of dual hatted Security Officers throughout KBR to ensure compliance with KBR security policies and procedures and Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership requirements. You will also coordinate access control for remote locations and may develop and implement security procedures in coordination with management.
This is a full time, ongoing opportunity, based in either Canberra (preferred) or Brisbane.
In this position you will:
+ Managing the KBR Security Register for all KBR staff and subcontractors requiring a Security Clearance
+ Assistance with initiation, maintenance, transferring and deactivation of clearances (approx. 1,300 clearances)
+ Conducting security briefings, inductions and security education programs
+ Investigation of losses and security violations
+ Assistance with security audits and compliance activities
+ Maintenance of the Security Page on the KBR SharePoint site
+ Assisting the day to day management of our secure facility (lock up, alarms and CCTV)
+ Management of access control system (for employees and visitors)

**THE ROLE**
**PURPOSE AND SCOPE**
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) reports directly to the Information Systems security Manager and provides support to the ISSM in the development and management of operational information systems security implementation policy, procedures, and guidelines.
The ISSO is responsible for the preparation, review, and update of authorization packages. The ISSO ensures approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Responsibilities/Duties**
+ Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package, notify ISSM when changes occur that might affect the authorization determination of the information system(s)
+ Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change
+ Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly
+ Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals, ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies)
+ Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties
+ Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, to include provide security coordination and review of all system assessment plans
+ Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of the countermeasures for them
+ Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems
+ Ensure compliance with all site's environmental health and safety requirements
+ Any other reasonable duties as requested

**Your Role**
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for the day-to-day onsite execution of the Systems Security Engineering activities required for the ongoing maintenance and uplift of the cybersecurity posture within the project. This spans systems, subsystems, products and external interfaces, and may include a mixture of operational cybersecurity functions and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) activities. Key responsibilities include:
+ Perform systems security risk management activities, including identifying security threats, analysing the risk exposure and presenting treatment options to mitigate security risk.
+ Conduct asset management including maintaining accurate inventories of all hardware and software configuration items.
+ Maintain change management, through evaluation of system changes for cybersecurity impact and updating any affected security authorisation artefacts.

What You'll DoIn the role of Security Duty Officer, your duties will include:
+ Supports a mission critical assignment responsible for the facilities operation and maintenance services to include construction, power generation, warehousing, medical support, temporary quarters, transportation systems, environmental health and safety, security, information technology, and housing, as well as all aspects of maintaining and repairing the site and its ancillary buildings.
+ Provides 24x7 personnel access control to ensure classified information and sensitive materials are properly secured and safeguarded for all classified areas.
+ Performs management and supervisory responsibilities as the shift supervisor or senior SDO, for that shift, and performs informal security-related activities as directed by the Security Government Point of Contact (GPOC).
+ Provides 24-hour monitoring and response to facility fire alarms and other emergency indicators (e.g., Lock-down alarm).
+ Performs all repair, maintenance, and combination changes on all safes and vault locks.
+ Operates the United States Government (USG)-provided paging and radio network.
+ Scans all submitted computer software for viruses.
+ Manages/maintains keys and combination control and provides roving patrols.
+ Assists and is on recall for Emergency Response, as directed; serves as the first responder and facility focal point for all medical emergencies inside and outside of classified areas at the site; and provides incident and daily reporting as required
Requirements:

+ Must have a US TS/SCI clearance w/ Poly, or an Australian PV clearance

+ Supports the formal Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
