Substation Secondary Systems design engineer role for Protection and Control Systems is responsible to work with project teams to design and develop the successful delivery of projects within Australia and New Zealand. Objective is to deliver to Customers Secondary System designs in accordance with Customer Specifications, International Standards and Local Regulations. **Roles and Responsibilities**

+ Support secondary system design and development through preliminary and detailed design, fabrication, assembly, production test, validation test as well as site installation, start-up test, and commissioning.
+ Perform, lead, or manage design and related technical scope from Preliminary, and Detailed Design including successful completion of regulatory design certification or plant licensing as well as procurement packages and hand-off to suppliers for implementation all applicable system, and component requirements; interfaces, function, performance, design assurance process, qualification, standards, regulatory guidance, certification or licensing commitments, technical contract, human factors, safety hazards, reliability, cyberCollaborate with system supplier implementation teams to develop, perform, and review unit, module, system, and integration test plans, procedures, and reports including factory acceptance test, site acceptance test, construction, pre-operational, and start-up tests.
+ Manage all necessary documentation to/from customer in regards to the secondary system design.
+ Interface and provide guidance to design team across APAC ensuring ANZ requirements and standards are met
+ Interface to customers (&customers partners) on matters relating to secondary design and ensure compliance in the design
+ Complete configurations of secondary system devices such as but not limited to HMI, Gateway, switches, time clocks and capable of performing FAT/SAT of the same
**Qualifications / Requirements:**
+ Degree from an accredited university or college in Electrical or control engineering
+ min 5 years' experience in design of secondary protection control system of HV AC substations and thorough knowledge in SAS -Substation automation system architectures.
+ Engineering and Business knowledge, with possible experience in T&D/ Energy/ Grid / substation automation activities.
+ Fluency in English language.
+ Willingness to travel (20%) and perform site activities

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments

The successful candidate will partner with Automation Engineering, Field and Design Engineering, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, Process Engineering, Facilities, and Operations leaders to effectively operate and deploy Material Handling Equipment across Amazon's last mile network.
This role involves regular communication with partner teams from Japan, Europe and WW to support parallel development projects.

As the Electrical Engineer, become part of a world class engineering team to lead the Electrical design of our Data Centers across our rapidly expanding Asia Pacific (APAC) portfolio. We're looking for candidates that share our customer obsession by providing innovative solutions to enhance our market leading reliability. We contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale.
We are looking for engineers with hands on electrical design experience across the project lifecycle from concept design through construction, to commissioning and handover. You will be relied on as a subject matter expert in the electrical engineering field. At Amazon, we highly support continued learning opportunities and focus on continued employee development.
Amazon has a global presence and 25% travel will be expected as part of this role. Projects will be throughout the region and a degree of international travel and support will be necessary.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Work with internal teams to understand and respond to evolving user requirements.
- Lead Data center electrical designs in collaboration with other disciplines to create a coordinated construction document set.
- Participate in site selection reviews.
- Critical Data Center equipment design including site-wide MV infrastructure, Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers and Earthing.
- Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.
- Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.
- Work with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements.
- Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with IEC requirements, the various APAC wide design codes and other jurisdictional requirements.
- Review and approval of equipment submittals.
- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
- Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
- Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
- Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed.
- Be a leader within the global group as well as within internal and external teams that support Amazon's data centers.

Basic Qualifications
- Degree in an Electrical Engineering with Cumulative 6+ years experience with mission critical electrical design.
- Comprehensive understanding of the various code requirements across the APAC region across critical MV and LV electrical equipment.
- Cross Discipline Design Coordination Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer or Master's degree in an Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with delivering fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
- Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/construction.

As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure or add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. You will use your (mechanical or electrical) expertise to:
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region
- Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
