Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support our finance team with a wide range of responsibilities spanning financial reporting, system improvements, inventory analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
**Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to;**
+ Responsible for cash allocation and maintaining customer accounts.
+ Strong involvement in Accounts Receivable functions, accurately recording customer payments, and creating customer credit notes.
+ Support month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and weekly reporting by coordinating with finance and shared services teams.
+ Ensure accuracy of the General Ledger, particularly inventory and manufacturing variance accounts, and complete timely reconciliations (e.g. WIP, PPV, freight, revaluations).
+ Conduct inventory and cost analysis, monitoring obsolescence risk, inventory turns, and logistics or labour costs to identify savings
+ Assist in audit preparation, ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, and support insurance renewals.
+ Collaborate with IT and finance teams to drive process improvements, including automation of cash allocation (Blackline) and ERP (QAD) enhancements.
+ Create and deliver financial reports and dashboards, translating key insights for non-financial stakeholders and supporting operational decision-making.
**About you**
+ Tertiary Qualification in Commerce / Business Management in Accounting
+ Intermediate proficiency in analysis / BI tools - Excel, PowerBI , Phocas
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
+ Solid communication and presentations skills and has the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
+ Accounting experience (preferably within a distribution environment)
+ Background experience in inventory management/purchasing

Supports the day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes, including support to clients as they work with and understand these processes. Performs accounting functions specifically in the areas of account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution.

+ Review and sign monthly summary of in house codes prepared by Income Auditor. Liaise with Director of Finance regarding any irregular items
+ Obtain daily rebates from Income Auditor and review for adequacy of explanation and evidence of appropriate approval in accordance with Marriott Policies and Procedures.
+ Arrange distribution of monthly profit and loss accounts to relevant department heads and liaise with them in relation to financial matters concerning their department.
+ Review monthly stock take results and food and beverage cost of sales reports for accuracy and import journals into general ledger. Investigate any irregular items arising from the stock take.
+ Prepare monthly GST return, yearly FBT and withholding tax remittances and prepare monthly electronic payment

The Financial Planning & Accounting (FP&A) Analyst is responsible for supporting the business through the coordination, preparation, reporting and provision of accurate and concise analysis of the company's budgets and forecasts. The role supports the development of the company's long-range financial plans and annual operations plans, functional overhead budgets (indirect and direct), preparation of the monthly financial reports for each business unit, coordination and explanation of monthly and year to date variances and insightful analysis of drivers of business performance.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Produce monthly management reporting for the company (monthly financial reports, monthly operations review packs, Leadership Team finance reports and functional overhead reports).
+ Prepare financial metrics and analysis for management reviews and analysis of financial performance of the company business including forecasting and analysis of full year forecast against the budget and prior forecast.
+ Meet reporting deadlines monthly/quarterly/annually in accordance with the financial calendar.
+ Process enhancements by effectively leveraging the potential of core financial systems.
+ Support the development of the Long-Range Financial Plan and Annual Operating Plan.
+ Prepare ad hoc reports and other analysis as requested.
+ Understanding and knowledge of AUS Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/Accounting
+ Uses foundational understanding of key financial metrics and financial analyses to actively participate in planning and forecasting.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications:**
+ Requires a University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience required.
+ Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of Finance or Accounting.
+ Requires practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to facilitate a decision-making process.
+ Desirable - Professional qualifications, e.g. CPA, CA, or equivalent.
+ Desirable - Experience with enterprise planning software such as IBM Cognos TM1 (including TM1 Web).
