What You'll Do
As a Business Operations Manager, you will:
+ Ensuring the seamless 24x7 functioning of mission-critical environments, recognizing the paramount need for continuous infrastructure availability
+ Institute organizational structure, define departmental responsibilities, and form positive working relationships between internal functional areas improving communication and overall project management for the program.
+ Coordinate and streamline operational process, procedure and reporting across multiple sites
+ Support the Program Manager in reviewing business systems administration, resources, procedures and methods to improve operational effectiveness, utility and efficiency

+ Establish procedures, develop, and implement programs for Mission critical and increase efficiencies

+ Responsible for notifying GPOC on facilities significant events; Ability to compile summaries of events, critical actions accomplished, plans for completion or remediation and brief to site management in various forums
+ Responsible for the management of Work Orders to include resource management and interfacing with customer representatives
+ Adhering strictly to contractual terms to prevent revenue loss and maximize financial outcomes
+ Systematically managing risks by conducting regular evaluations and pinpointing substantial business risks for KBR, as delegated by the Program Manager or Deputy Program Manager
+ Anticipating future client needs and on contract growth opportunities by conducting thorough onsite assessments of client operations and proposing comprehensive project strategies
+ Utilizing analytical tools and methodologies to assess client organizations, secure engagements with considerable profitability potential, and guide the transformation of the client's current operations to their future state
+ Advocating for a culture that prioritizes Quality and Safety throughout all program aspects.
+ Instituting processes and protocols to accurately and promptly track and report data across all sites, ensuring compliance with contractual reporting requirements
+ Embracing new challenges with a propensity for inventive problem-solving and the enhancement or creation of procedures for optimized outcomes
This role will be located in Alice Springs, Australia at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. The Business Operations Manager will be expected to travel between our facilities in Alice Springs and the local area. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
Requirements
+ A degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting from an accredited university
+ Demonstrated experience working on programs utilizing foreign currency
+ Demonstrated analytical skills and programmatic planning for budgeting and contract management oversight
+ Demonstrated ability to meet short timelines
+ Possess an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph or Host Nation PV clearance
+ A wealth of experience, with a minimum of 10 or more years experience in roles of increasing responsibility and complexity, preferably within a program managing 250+ personnel
+ A track record of establishing and maintaining practices that ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness, supported by an analytical approach that leverages historical data to optimize equipment reliability and costs
+ Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, organizing, directing, decisive problem-solving, and the ability to engage effectively with both staff and clients at all levels
+ Knowledge of process improvement models (e.g. LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000)

- Develop and maintain precise project schedules, including resource allocation and milestone tracking.
- Manage project budgets, conduct cost analyses, and update Estimate-To-Complete (ETC) evaluations.
- Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor project performance and accurately report progress and forecasts.
Risk and Issue Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Regularly report project status, earned value metrics, and progress updates to stakeholders and senior management.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster strong working relationships with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate project expectations, updates, and outcomes effectively to all relevant parties.
Support Bid Phase
- Support the Capture Manager during the bid phase by preparing accurate project costing, schedules, and risk registers with detailed basis of estimates.
- Refine the Statement of Work (SOW) and establish compliance matrices against the SOW and its attachments.
- Establish and define the project lifecycle during contract negotiations.
- Engage proactively with the engineering team to ensure alignment and integration of technical requirements.
**Candidate skills & requirements**
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years' experience in Project Management in Defence or similar highly regulated environment
- Knowledge of Defence Acquisition and Sustainment contracts
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or related fields
- Specialised knowledge and/or practical application of naval sensor systems (e.g. optronics, Infra-Red tracking or similar)
- Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of successfully managing projects within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities in risk assessment, project tracking, and performance measurement.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, effectively managing diverse teams and stakeholder expectations.

- Experience with Defence Earned Value Management Systems

The JP9347 Joint Interface Control (JIC) System Project is a key program for Raytheon Australia and as such we are seeking a Project Manager to support delivery of the JP9347 program.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right Project Manager to play an instrumental role in creating the future of Joint Data Networks in Australia. The JP9347 JIC System program provides an assured exchange of tactical, operational and strategic data across the Joint Force and coalition partners; including Situational Awareness (SA) and Command and Control (C2) information.
As a Project Manager within the JP9347 program, you will assist the program manager in managing the acquisition of the Joint Integrated Control System. You will be part of an expert team of engineering, logistics, production and installation specialists, setting the vision and using your unique leadership skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Assist with the day-to-day management and delivery of an acquisition program undertaking the engineering, production and installation of the Joint Integrated Control System.
+ Manage program risk, budget, schedule, and program reporting (Estimates at Completion (EACs) and Program Management Reviews (PMRs) in accordance with Raytheon approved processes.
+ Manage and coordinate external resources (vendors and support agencies).
+ Conduct planning & coordination of program requirements & resources to meet the integration objectives for the program.
+ Prepare progress and status reporting to meet customer and Raytheon requirements.
+ Deliver quality outcomes to the customer and end users through all phases of the acquisition program.
+ Maintain excellent relationships with the customer through continuous and accurate communication.
**Qualifications, Experience and Skills**
+ Relevant tertiary qualification in either, Program or Business Management, or equivalent experience; with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a defence project management role or relevant experience;
+ Demonstrated competence in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) competencies;
+ Sound understanding of military operations across, Air, Land, Maritime, Space and Information Domains and proven understanding of Joint Operations.
+ Proven ability to work both as an individual and as a member of a high-performance team.
+ Strongly developed interpersonal skills and able to influence stakeholders at an operational level and the ability to develop solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
+ Demonstrated experience with planning and scheduling range availability for multiple configurations and multiple customers.
