THE POSITION:

Starting at the beginning of the 2026 school year and reporting to the Dean of Teaching and Learning Innovation, the Leader of Learning – Design, Technologies and Digital Futures will:

  • Lead curriculum and pedagogy across Digital Technologies and Design & Technologies.

  • Drive innovation and integration of emerging technologies and design thinking.

  • Build partnerships and pathways that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.

  • Mentor and support faculty staff, including new and beginning teachers.

  • Monitor student progress and ensure compliance with QCAA and Australian Curriculum standards.

  • Promote inclusive practices and support diverse learning needs.

  • Manage faculty budgets and contribute to school publications and communications.

This is a middle leadership role within provisions of the Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Religious Institute Schools of Qld.

The Graphic Design and Communications Officer works as part of the Communications and Engagement team to create and implement University-wide and Infrastructure-specific communication and engagement materials for projects, events and information campaigns.

The Graphic Design and Communications Officer works to deliver the communications, design and engagement collateral and activity required for the development, construction and launch of infrastructure projects. Working with colleagues in the Communications team, the role works to provide the University community, providing information and opportunities to be part of the development of infrastructure projects that result in improved learning, teaching and research outcomes. The position assists Infrastructure’s project managers and space planners to achieve these outcomes, as well as student and staff groups on related projects and events.

To be successful you will need:

  1. Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
  2. Proven experience in designing effective communications and marketing collateral for a range of audiences on a limited budget to inspire and motivate understanding and behaviour change using the Adobe suite, particularly InDesign as well as Microsoft applications including PowerPoint and Word.
  3. Experience in developing and coordinating communications activities and events.
  4. The ability to work effectively on a range of different projects simultaneously.
  5. Demonstrated excellent customer services skills and commitment to a customer service culture.
