This is a contingent position based upon contract award
What You'll DoIn the role of Carpenter, Supervisor, your duties will include:
+ Plan Facility Operations: Plan and manage operations at the facility which includes facilities planning, design, construction, and allocation of offices and furniture.
+ Manage Customer Requests: Oversee and resolve customer requests and inquiries related to various services such as maintenance and repair activities.
+ Apply Policies and Procedures: Implement and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices in facilities management and office services to maintain operational standards.
+ Supervise Staff: Provide general direction, supervise, and review the accuracy and effectiveness of work performed by the carpentry team, ensuring high-quality outputs.
+ Assign Work: Coordinate and allocate work among team members, taking into account individual strengths and project requirements to maximize productivity and quality.
+ Guide Less Experienced Team Members: Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced team members, helping them understand complex assignments and improving their skills.
+ Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with safety regulations and standards, minimizing risks associated with carpentry and facilities management tasks.
+ Monitor Facility Conditions: Regularly inspect and evaluate the condition of the facility's infrastructure, initiating maintenance or upgrades as necessary to ensure optimal operation and safety.
+ Report Management: Maintain detailed reports on operations, staff performance, and project progress to inform higher management and aid in decision-making.
+ Fulfill Broad Responsibilities: Handle complex assignments and fulfill broad responsibilities, adapting methods and procedures based on judgment or precedent to achieve defined outcomes.
+ Other duties as required.
Requirements:
+ Must be a US or Australian citizen
+ Must Possess an active US Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph or AUS PV Clearance.
+ 7+ years' experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
+ Previous Supervisory experience.
+ Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
+ Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
+ Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
+ Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.

Fire Service Technician Carpenter, you will be working within Fire Door and Containment team inspecting, testing, maintaining, and installing Fire Doors and Passive Fire Systems.
Inspect, test, installation and repair Fire Doors, in accordance with procedures and processes.Maintaining Passive Fire Systems includes sealing up penetrations to fire rated walls to Australian Standards and requires the ability to read and interpret structural drawings.Skills in plastering and other general wall repairs are highly regarded.Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of defects.Liaise with building facility managers to provide an accurate and efficient service.Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.Determining job priorities and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.Maintaining industry knowledge and monitoring market developments, keeping up to date with the latest changes and advances in fire technology and relevant Australian Standards.Commitment to the highest standards of business code of conduct, aligned with expectations on ethical behaviour according to company values. **Your day to day**
The island is experiencing an exciting period of growth and needs additional trades support. Our Island Carpenters are responsible for maintaining all building structures, finishes, and carpentry related services in the resort and staff village, including laundry section, kitchens, resort and village rooms, food and beverage outlets, marina, public areas, industrial, and plant rooms. In addition, you will assist in any after-hours emergencies that may arise when required and always keep an eye out for improvements.
