Job Description
**Your Day to Day**
+ Clean and store linens and uniforms in a timely, organised manner to ensure that hotel's laundry and linen needs are met.
+ Receive soiled lines by bag, cart, or chute from the floors. Sort all articles by kind, colour, and degree of soil. Inspect all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items.
+ Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers' guidelines. Ensure necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles.
+ Fold clean linens and store as appropriate. Operate linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines.
+ Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
+ Monitor and control supplies and minimise waste within laundry facility.
+ Sort and record discarded linen into categories. Report damages or loss of linen to supervisor.
+ Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
+ May assist with other duties as assigned.
**What We Need from You**
+ Some laundry or housekeeping experience and ability to speak English preferred.
+ Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 400 pounds
+ Frequently standing up and moving about the work area
+ Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
+ Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling
+ Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment
+ Reading and writing abilities and basic math skills when determining amounts of chemicals to treat laundry and stains and logging appropriate weight.
+ Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

**About the role**
Every day brings something new, but your core responsibilities will center around the implementation of laundry standards and procedures. You'll be expected to maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of all laundry systems and be responsible for opening and closing shifts, incoming and outgoing calls to the Laundry Department. You'll work closely with Housekeeping to meet both guest and hotel laundry needs, ensuring valet items are processed and delivered promptly. In addition, you'll coordinate laundry storage areas, and conduct shift briefings to keep the team aligned with hotel operations.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you must have experience working in a hotel or resort laundry environment. Flexibility is essential, as night, weekend, and holiday shifts are all part of the job. Excellent communication skills are a must-you'll be approachable and responsive, handling both guest concerns and compliments with ease. Fluency in the local language is required. Strong interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal, are essential, along with being literate and tech-savvy to manage systems and communications effectively. **Additionally, a valid forklift license is essential, as operating laundry equipment and handling inventory may involve forklift use (you will not be successful without one).**
