Clinical Neuropsychologist

The Clinical Neuropsychologist is responsible for the provision of neuropsychological services to children and young people with a history of acquired brain injury, neurological disease/disorder and/or developmental disorder. Neuropsychological services include formal cognitive assessment, provision of psycho-education to the children, families and schools, feedback to clinical team members and preparation of a report that summarises all key information obtained from the assessment process. The Clinical Neuropsychologist works closely within a multi-disciplinary team. The Clinical Neuropsychologist will participate in peer supervision. The Clinical Neuropsychologist is also a member of the Psychology department and will participate in psychology tasks and meetings.

The Clinical Neuropsychologist will work as part of the Western NSW LHD Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Clinic to provide neuropsychological telehealth assessment services to children in rural and remote Western NSW. The clinic currently consists of a Developmental Paediatrician, Social Worker, Nurse and Administration staff. The Clinical Neuropsychologist will work collaboratively with the team to conduct a comprehensive assessment and provide feedback and recommendations to the family and school staff. The Clinical Neuropsychologist will prepare a comprehensive clinical report for the family and the referring team outlining the child’s cognitive abilities and/or neurodevelopmental diagnosis(es) and detail recommendations to support the child in community and education-based settings to develop their functional skills. The Clinical Neuropsychologist reports to the Child Development Unit, Head of Department. The Clinical Neuropsychologist will participate in peer supervision and be required to perform administrative and professional duties. Clinical support and supervision is also provided by the Psychology team lead of the Child Development Unit.

About You
  • Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and full endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology or eligible to progress to same.
  • Minimum 2 year full time equivalent accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Experience in the neuropsychological assessment and management of children with a history of acquired brain injury, developmental disorder and neurological conditions.

Applicants currently enrolled in a combined Masters/PhD are eligible to apply if they have completed the equivalent of Masters degree requirements as part of the PhD pathway. Evidence of this is demonstrated by a completed PDEC-76 form and cover letter from the University confirming Masters degree requirements have been met.

Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony. Written confirmation from the University is required.

Successful applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Masters degree requirements and are awaiting full registration from the Psychology Board of Australia will be paid at Year 2 of the Psychologist Scale until they have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, at which point they will commence on Year 1 of the Clinical Psychologist scale.

About the Team

Our pharmacists are recognised as essential members of all clinical teams, actively engaging in a unit and team-based care model involving ward rounds and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient care outcomes. The clinical pharmacy service extends beyond the traditional hospital pharmacy setting, operating across 7 days and extended hours, to ensure consistent patient care regardless of when they are admitted. Pharmacy programs span across all aspects of the patient journey, from acute admission through to ambulatory and post discharge innovation programs, including pharmacist-led and pharmacist integrated ambulatory clinics.

There are vast opportunities to engage in Advanced Scopes of Practice. This includes undertaking credentialing programs and leading clinical activities such as Partnered Pharmacist Medicine Charting, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Sepsis and MET call participation, to name a few.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced hospital leader to join the Alfred Pharmacy Executive Leadership team. As the Clinical Director for Pharmacy, you will work in partnership with the Clinical Pharmacy Executive Group to lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of clinical pharmacy services across Alfred Health. This role is accountable for ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care through strategic leadership, operational oversight, and innovation in clinical practice.

The Clinical Director will support and mentor Lead Pharmacists within clinical services, fostering professional growth and ensuring consistent, high-standard service provision. You will also play a key role in shaping the strategic planning and transformation of clinical pharmacy services across Alfred Health, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities

  • Research experience including undertaking, presenting and publishing research findings desirable
  • Significant experience in a variety of different clinical environments and/or extensive clinical practice at an advanced level highly desirable
  • Extensive experience of clinical resources and implementation of new programmes within the healthcare setting desirable
  • Experience of horizon scanning and development of innovative processes for local implementation
